USMC Sniper 0 Posted May 31, 2003 Me and Vlados from the Caucasus Crisis mod are going to start working on a 1930's Mafia pack. Here are the planned contents: -Thompson 1928, Ithaca 37, Smith & Wesson M10 and Colt 1911. -One or two player models, the stereotypical Mafia guy (Suit, tophat) maybe one guy dressed in black and one in grey, or one in a suit and one in a trenchcoat. -One or two 1930's era cars, maybe a Ford or Chevrolet. Right now the Ithaca model is textured and completed (sorry no pic), and the Thompson model is done & partially textured.
NZXSHADOWS 0 Posted May 31, 2003 That sound very interesting to me.Having a MOB would be something different.Like missions where you go an waste somebody.Or take over anther MOBs tuff.very interesting
Major Gripe 0 Posted June 3, 2003 Could you make the submachinegun come in a violin case? Maybe use the same technique as on Inquisitors m24 with the changing camo?
USMC Sniper 0 Posted June 4, 2003 Ok, I have the Colt 1911 model and textures done (yes I made it myself this time ), the Ithaca is 90% done, and the Thompson 1928 model is done, but not textured. I'll post some pics when I find a host.

The Frenchman 0 Posted June 4, 2003 Can you make a mafia compound too please.
FatWombat 0 Posted June 4, 2003 The nogovian mafia...lol Good to see new ideas for ofp addons, good luck with it.
x_Horst 0 Posted June 4, 2003 Good Idea ! But I thing that you have a one serious problem: U will need a lots of civilians and cars to make the Chicago alive. I was plaing The Mafia game and there are about 60-70 models of cars and a many civilians but after some time it was also small-scale. Mafia
USMC Sniper 0 Posted June 4, 2003 I know about how many things WOULD be needed for a fully functional 1930's city, but for now it's just a basic pack. We will probably add some little packs, like civilians, more cars, etc. I'm thinking of porting some cars over from Mafia, but I am unfamiliar with ZModeler. USMC Sniper 0 Posted June 5, 2003 The Colt 1911 is now ingame, I'm gonna be working on the shotgun & Thompson now. Also the textures have been optimized on the Colt, instead of having about 10 textures each just unedited pics, they have been compiled into 4.
The Frenchman 0 Posted June 5, 2003 Since the one mission in the Delta campaign where you are a hitman, I always wondered what the game would be like if made into a mob mod. Great work.
USMC Sniper 0 Posted June 7, 2003 Vlados has modeled and textured a bat, expect pics soon.
Antaris 0 Posted June 7, 2003 Mmm sounds very nice, cant wait to see all this in game
Guest BratZ Posted June 7, 2003 Hey I can't say much, but I know you will have a 1930's car too, a nice one : )
USMC Sniper 0 Posted June 7, 2003 We will make new swinging animations as well. I am going to attempt to port a black Ford Model A Fordor (the stereotypical Mafia car ), but we will have to create a new interior for this, since the Mafia ones are low-res and undetailed. If someone can help us with the car aspect of the pack, that'd be really cool. The Colt is now ingame and fully functional, albeit without LOD's, but here is the right side of the updated gun:
USMC Sniper 0 Posted June 7, 2003 I decided to import the Chevrolet from Mafia, as you can see lots has to be done (the wheels, whole interior), and lots of things fixed (the low poly parts). I would've modeled it myself but pics are EXTREMELY rare for these cars.
HotShot 0 Posted June 7, 2003 Wow. The pack is going very well. well done
USMC Sniper 0 Posted June 14, 2003 I've done a Colt 25 model, and I'm going to texture it soon. Expect screens tomorrow
PFC_Mike 2 Posted June 14, 2003 eh. The pack looks like it will be very high quality, but OFP AI isn't really up to the challenge. That said, is it possible to do drive-bys? You could make a version of the car with a Thompson as a "turret" and define it as a jeepMG.
thirtyg 0 Posted June 14, 2003 Looking good, any new screenshots available

You could make a version of the car with a Thompson as a "turret" and define it as a jeepMG. I don't know, I've been planning something like this before, but niether me or Vlados have done something like that before. It's a good idea though, would make car chases really fun. But to make them fun the cars would have to have lots of "armor", so that they don't explode when the door is shot a lot. Unfortunately OFP doesn't have a system where there is a fuel tank thing for cars, like this the car would only explode when the fuel tank is shot a couple of times. BronzeEagle 2 Posted June 14, 2003 The men in black wouldn't fit well as mafia guys, just a hint. Also if you make a cop, which would be extremely cool, make him like a dress shirt and slacks and tie with the cop holster under his arm and maybe even an eye patch, or white hair, or a detective hat whatever they call those. I forget.
llauma 0 Posted June 14, 2003 Just take a look at the Mafia game and you'll see what you need. My oppinion is that OFP mafia mod will never come close to Mafia game. Okay, Mafia could need some tweaking but the engine and atmosphere is perfect.
SpeedyDonkey 0 Posted June 14, 2003 I have to say that i agree with lama about the mafia engine and it's possibilities! I really hope that they will make a sequel to the original mafia game! There was a few things i didn't like about mafia: 1, no multiplayer and 2, no way to make sweet sweet cutscenes etc but with a small mafia pack in ofp this could be changed. Keep up the good work!
