miles teg 1 Posted May 30, 2003 A list of vehicles and soldiers would be nice. For people with slow connections that might help them decide whether to download it or not. I'm downloading now... I'm gonna make the Swedes invade Iraq!!! Buuuahahahaha!!!! Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
smogmorph 0 Posted May 30, 2003 Very nice Stuff I didn't like: HKP10 - Tailrotor spins weird, textures.. well they need to be improved. Norrlandsjägare - It doesn't look like they're camoflagued for winter combat, looks more like you forgot to add textures.. and their guns are missing textures. SSG (Desert) - Once again I must complain on the textures.. they look too simple (except the desert AK5 which looks good). Other than that, this is a great pack

Other than that, this is a great pack have to repeat what i said when i did the texture for the snow guy (and same goes for the desert since i made those too)... i am not a texture artist. I am a coder.. but we been looking for a texture artist since november (vepr have helped us with strf90 and i think he is great but he doesn't have much time).. so if you can do better textures you are more then welcomed to join the team, or if you can do anything else. All helped warmly welcomed. For the list, well can write a short one. Vehicles: TGB20 TGB11 TGB13 Strf90LVKV PBV501 HKP10 Weapons: TKSP AK5 (like 7 versions) Ak4 (3 versions) KSP58 KSP90 AG90 PSG90 M45 Pskott GRG M96 and some others. Sole 0 Posted May 30, 2003 Downloading now (fixed the edgy muzzleflash btw gran, but I guess that's too late now, oh well, at least one improvement for the next version )

Any chanse you could release them anyway? sorry but no. What is left is the "ending" triggers that for some reason doesn't trigger, if i do them with radio alpha and such it works perfect but needs to be fixed and have to test in MP todo that.. You welcome Keycat, i hope i will get some time over to join you and the rest of NOSIG in more playing now when the pack finaly are done.
smogmorph 0 Posted May 30, 2003 so if you can do better textures you are more then welcomed to join the team Sadly enough, I'm not skilled in that area  Don't get me wrong, the textures are not terrible, but they're not awesome.. good enough for me to use in a mission though  (this only goes for the vehicles/men I mentioned, the rest is terrific) Stuff I love: Stridsfordon90 - There are simply no words good enough that can describe how much I love this vehicle  TGB20 - Yeah! Finally some Support vehicles. Hvu - Hah, so cool   (btw, the Carl Gustav m96 is too powerful)
miles teg 1 Posted May 30, 2003 WOW!!!!!!! Â OMG! Â This pack is REALLY good. Â I don't really notice the missing textures on the weapons for the troops with the snow uniforms as it matches the uniforms. LOL! Â Plus as you get closer the weapons look fine. Â I agree about the helicopter... the textures are so-so and the model is bit blocky looking (it looks similar to that Puma addon that came out earlier). Â I really wish the chopper had a door gunner as well and also new sounds. Â But on the plus side, the chopper flys well and the AI seem to handle it just fine. Â In other words it doesn't skid too much and the AI don't seem to crash very often when landing so I'm very happy about that. Â In addition the inside textures are good except for the very rear area which is just plain grey. Â Ground Vehicles- All I can say is WOW! Â They are all fantastic. Â I only wish that on the TGB 11 and TGB 13 (the troop carrier trucks) that perhaps a version could be made mounting a machine gun on it if such a version exhists. Â Regarding the STRF and the LvKv (the one with the radar), the textures and sounds are incredible in both of them. Â I especially love the highly detailed inside textures. Â The different firing modes and ammunition are also nice as is the realistic rate of fire. Â A CV-9025 or CV-9030 (25mm and 30mm cannons) version with a slightly higher rate of fire and thinner barrels might be nice also. Better yet a CV-90105 or 90120 tank killer version!!! Â But I do like that big Bofors 40mm auto-cannon and the rate of fire is just perfect for it. Â Troops- Â Superb!!! Â Great weapons, and great uniforms. Â I like that one without the helmet with the old bolt-action rifle also. Â I guess these are like Reservists or something? Â Â The Special ops versions are also great although I agree that the one with the desert uniform looks a little too simplistic in the uniform textures. Â I like the head-set radios on them however. My favorite soldier however is the SSG (GN-1) soldier with the night goggles and silenced rifle. Â He looks amazing. Â I wish BAS would make a night-time Delta Force or Navy SEAL soldier like that. Â The goggles are of coarse permanent, but that's ok if the whole mission takes place at night. Â However the Swedish Mod team might consider making a daytime version of that soldier without the goggles. Â Overall all the weapons are superb, especially the sniper rifles with the mil-dot crosshairs to help with estimating the angle of fire for distant targets. My biggest gripe overall about this beautiful pack however is that there is barely any documentation for it!!! Â For us Non-Swedes, we can not understand what all these units are except using trial-and-error methods in the map editor. Â There is a few translations in the readme file for it, but it doesn't translate all the terms. Â Â Also it would be nice to give information about these units so that we know what type of units these are and what jobs they do in real life. Â BAS for example does an excellent job in this regard. Â At any rate, overall I think this is a VERY fine mod worthy of downloading. Â The snow troops will make good opponents for the UCE Russian snow troops and the snow troops from Kegetys's Nogavjev map!!! Â I'm American myself, and while I don't know much about the Swedish Army, it'll be fun making fictional battles between the Swedes and the Russians. Â In the coarse of doing research on the real-life armored vehicles in this pack I also discovered that the Swedes took part in the U.N. peacekeeping operation in Kosovo. Â I did not know that. Â That is something else you should add in the documentation for this pack. Â So I guess they'll be good against the UCE Serbian and KLA troop addons. Â Big thumbs up to you all at the Swedish Mod team. Â Keep up the awesome work!!! Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
KeyCat 131 Posted May 30, 2003 i hope i will get some time over to join you and the rest of NOSIG in more playing now when the pack finaly are done. Yes please do, we have missed both you and Shar in our co-op's  BTW, just briefly tested TGB 11 and boy did I get flashbacks from my time in the army As an armour mech group we used to eat/sleap/and everything else in thoose while serving the Swedish battle tanks (the old Stridsvagn S) in the field. Great work! @ Chris, I could be wrong but I don't remember seeing any TGB 11 or TGB 13 with MG's in the Swedish army while I served. Some other trucks/jeeps did have a roof hatch where you could use MG's. /Christer (a.k.a KeyCat)
smogmorph 0 Posted May 30, 2003 I only wish that on the TGB 11 and TGB 13 (the troop carrier trucks) that perhaps a version could be made mounting a machine gun on it if such a version exhists.  They were making a TGB 20 with a KSP58.. something happened there, dunno what  Quote[/b] ]I like that one without the helmet with the old bolt-action rifle also.  I guess these are like Reservists or something? Some of the guards ,who are guarding the Royal Castle in Stockholm, uses  (carries.. they don't shoot at tourists) this weapon. Guest Posted May 30, 2003 In the coarse of doing research on the real-life armored vehicles in this pack I also discovered that the Swedes took part in the U.N. peacekeeping operation in Kosovo. Â I did not know that. Â No shit Sherlock! Do you think I have the KFOR logo in my sig because I like the color? Â The Swedish peacekeepers in Kosovo are however not UN but KFOR. No blue helmets I'm afraid Comments on the pack: Very nice indeed, but you already know that Some smaller issues: [*]On Tgb 20 there is a missing texture in one or several of the LODS on the undercarriage of the truck [*]The Pbv 501 is too big (same mistake as with BIS' BMP) [*] The Ak4 model looks a bit weird. Can't put my finger on it but there is something that doesn't add up.
SpeedyDonkey 0 Posted May 30, 2003 What have i done wrong? I installed all the addons (21 pbo files) And all i see in the editor under west is "Men (swedish)" and thats 10 soldiers... where´s the rest of them?
Guest Posted May 30, 2003 They're all under "Resistance", not "West"
CoolCarlos2002 2 Posted May 30, 2003 They should be on East, geographically Sweden is on the East but i think resistance is good.
SpeedyDonkey 0 Posted May 30, 2003 They're all under "Resistance", not "West" hmmm i have no swedish soldiers in resistance. I made a folder called sfd with all the addons in it and i made a new thing where i put "C:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE" -nosplash -mod=amore;hisky;sfd something is wrong
granQ 293 Posted May 30, 2003 hmm, make it sfp not sdf not that it matters but.. then you have to have a addons folder in the sdf or sfp folder

KeyCat 131 Posted May 30, 2003 They should be on East, geographically Sweden is on the East Depends on where you draw the centerline, doesn't it... Â Since Sweden is neutral I think SFP did the right thing to place them under resistance. /Christer (a.k.a KeyCat)
miles teg 1 Posted May 30, 2003 They should be on East, geographically Sweden is on the East Depends on how you see it  I agree... traditionally, in OFP the good guys are seen as being "West" and the bad guys "East". Of coarse as you say which side is "Good" and which is "Bad" all depends on where you you live and how you see things. For much of the world, the Americans are the "bad guys". At any rate, I think choosing the Resistance side was a good choice for this pack. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>

Guest Posted May 30, 2003 Sweden's number one enemy (apart from Denmark ) has always been Russia. Russia is "East" in OFP and therfor the logical choice is that Sweden is either "West" or "Resistance".
