Dschulle 0 Posted May 12, 2003 The AEF-Campaign team developed a new tool which is designed to help island maker to overcome some difficulties with WRP-Edit. It doesn't  replace WRP-Edit! Available features: - deleting unused models out of model list - randomize object orientation - rescale objects - placing and deleting objects in regions  ... Especially the rescale function opens a new way to make OFP-worlds more realistic. (Show me two trees in nature, which look identical.  ) A Readme is included. *** Download Wrp-Buddy v0.3b *** ----- www.aef-campaign.de

PFC_Mike 2 Posted May 13, 2003 How does the rescale function affect performance?
Dschulle 0 Posted May 13, 2003 We haven't done any intensive test, but I haven't experienced any effect to the performance. Imho there shouldn't be any effect, since the transformation matrix is applied anyway to achieve the direction... It would be also possible to rotate Objects around all 3 axis, but I don't see a point there...

ebud 18 Posted May 13, 2003 After all this time, all anyone really wants and REALLY needs is the copy and paste function. Is it really that hard to code? Even if it were limited to say oly 20 objects or some other limit to make it easier to implement? I'm sure this tool is amazing, and many many hours of work went into it, but until I see a copy and paste function, I just won't be happy with anything that people code Great job... especially the scale function. TYsiEK 0 Posted May 26, 2003 Same here, can you add a tutorial on exporting? I agree. Please don't relase other tools without tutorials.
Dschulle 0 Posted May 26, 2003 What do you mean, by "don't release tool without tut's"? You don't have to use them. I made the tool for our campaign and decided to make it available to the whole comm. But I'm working on the problem. I used the following method: From the Menu (Wrp-Edit) select All-Elevations then Export as text. I'll check the problem tonight...
Hit_Sqd_Maximus 0 Posted May 26, 2003 Yea, thats what we did, but when opening wrp buddy and clicking on map> then import it gives an error opening the file.
Dschulle 0 Posted May 26, 2003 The error was, that the guys from OFP-internals didn't care about the system settings when exporting the height field. Therefore also english systems exportet a comma instead of a period. The current version should work system independent. Sorry for the problems, but I didn't run a test for international settings  and in germany we also use a comma as decimal separator. NEW Download
Cosmic Evolution 0 Posted May 26, 2003 Dschulle, Thanks for the great prog. Also, thank you for figuring out the problem without much(any?) help from us outsiders... One thing though, you've removed the support Dll's from your zip, so anyone dl/ing for the first time isn't going to be able to run it. And that's a shame, cause this thing is awesome... Keep up the good work. -Cos.
Dschulle 0 Posted May 26, 2003 ups  Sorry for that.. fixing the link  BTW: if you want to load Nogova in WRP-Edit you just have to change the '3' to '2' (right after the ID) and delete the following 16 bytes. (Hexeditor) Leaving: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">4F50 5257 0200 0000 2F03 5000 0004 [...] Then just open it in Wrp-Edit. I don't know if this was known yet.

ag_smith 0 Posted May 28, 2003 Sorry to go off-topic, but are we going finally to see "copy&paste" function in any WRP tool for OFP?
Dschulle 0 Posted May 28, 2003 Yes there will be a C&P function soon, I joined with the guys who develop the WRP-Tool ( http://flashpoint.nekromantix.com/wrp.php ). And we are making good progress. Â
Cosmic Evolution 0 Posted May 28, 2003 Does the new version work for you now? Yeah, It works(ed) great for me... Right up until my hard-drive decided it has had enough. Hopefully I'll be back up and running today though, but starting over (even from just one week ago) isn't any fun at all. Can't wait for the copy and paste function, that will make everthing soooo much easier... -Cos.
Nagual 0 Posted May 28, 2003 I've been using this tool today, I tried out all the features, and have to say, it works wonders, very handy. It doesn't quite resize the roadway lods of some objects properly, but that is only problem ive noticed. The random area stuff and resizing are are very helpful. Thanks for sharing this tool AEF team, much appreciated
