Crashing, burning

Recommended Posts

http://www.tacticalblunder.com/crashNburn.swf

I was trying to make a video with an external camera, (firewire makes my computer crash as well), and this is what happened (just luckily caught it on video). You might have to turn your volume up a bit, because you can here the bass on my speakers go out and the computer shutting off.

PS: Sad attempt at background music wink.gif

2mb...

I just installed the new SBLive and GeForce drivers. My system specs are as follows:

Athlon XP 1700

768 MB RAM

GeForce 3 Ti500

SBLive Card

I need the whammmbulance!

[PS: Mods, does that 100kb max image size apply to SWF flash movies? Plus, it isn't mandatory that you download the SWF file... if you wanna view this thread you gotta view the SWF anyway tounge.gif]

Which DirectX version? I seem to be noticing people having problems with certain drivers and DX9. Not just FP necessarily, I've noticed comments in other game forums as well.

I have no plans to upgrade to DX9 until I absolutely have to (a game I can't live without requires it is the only reason I can think of).

Did you introduce DX9 lately?

The rule only applies to hotlinked items, obviously posted as a link people have a choice whether to download or not as you correctly state smile.gif

Blackdog, I watched your video, and can't make any sense of it. confused.gif

It took me a while to realize that the video was looping (the repeating counter from the camera was the clue I needed), but if your system reboots spontaneously, go to Control Panel -> System -> Advanced -> Startup and Recovery ->Settings and turn off the Reboot Automatically option. That way, you might be able to see what is causing the problem.

Other than that, if FireWire causes stability problems, you may need a driver update, or cut back on overclocking your system if you are doing that. FireWire also draws quite a bit of juice since it can be used to power peripherals connected to the bus, so I would also make sure that your PSU is up to snuff.

That is the blue hell screen, are you running XP? It looks like you are using too much memory on one of your hardware items. And thats causing a fatal error.

I got the same screen, only my error was with ATI2VAG.dll Which is the essential ATI driver file. having it say "STOP" isn't particularily helpful though is it smile.gif
