SP/MP Support Pack

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">OFPEC's Admin snYpir sent us an email:

After a month of development and testing, the SP/MP (Singleplayer/Multiplayer) Support Pack has finally been released!

The SP/MP Support Pack aims to bring you everything you need for user-friendly artillery, air, close air and quick extraction support in your OFP missions. It does this through a central 'support request' dialog, and all features work in both single player and multiplayer.

Basically this means that instead of having seperate scripts for artillery, airstrikes, close air support and chopper extractions, it is all in one addon accessable via a single dialog.

All sorts of goochy features are implemented, including cluster bomb airstrikes, airburst artillery (with shrapnel), napalm and chopper fast-roping (rappelling).

I do have a bit of a problem...

I get my radio operator telling me that support is available, and when I request support, nothing happens. About a minute later, though, it resets, letting me call for support again.

And I'm not getting any downwash. What am I doing wrong? Did I just totally glaze over something in the readme? confused.gif

ok, so you have set in the init_general.sqs file that a radio is required for support, yeah?

at the start of the mission, your radio dude says 'support is available on channel #, Sir'.

however, when you hit the support radio channel, nothing happens? do you see the green range markers on your map?

does the example mission work?

There seems to be a bit of a problem with the mortars. They still work, but there is a text-error message that comes up (a rather long one), and it's also very laggy....some sort of loop in the script probably isn't quite right (a getpos looping problem of some sort???). Other than that....it's a very good pack indeed. Well done..... biggrin.gif

Heh... um... yeah, I'm just a complete nob. It works fine. Perfectly. I'm just a bit slow (though quick to complain/whine). My apologies.

Great pack, mate. Not quite as overwhelming as CoC's and just as good.

Some final questions - when I load the default template, the only Helo mission I get (besides CAS) is extraction and return to base. How do I get it to insert me into a new LZ? Or fast rope?

And where are the extraction helos in the Nam template?

Open the init_extraction.sqs in the SNYSptPack folder. THere are comments on how to do it there.

which mortars exactly? i can't recreate this error at all.

a new version is up, 1.15, that fixes all known bugs. could you please try it for me, and let me know if it works or not?

thanks!

Great work, but...

Explosions in mortars are not working... shrapnels do really work, causing massive casaulties within the troops... but explosions on all types of mortar ammo deals no pain. It is even fun to watch a shell hitting directly into soldier and soldier standing still alive, untouched, afterwards :]

so if you play the example mission, and call in a mortar strike on your head, you don't die? i just did it then, and i got turned into gravy.

I downloaded this pack last week and boy was I impressed...By far the most imperssive is the cluster bomb attack...awesome...It works fine for me.I can alter available support assets, change the aircraft types and do everything you're supposed to be able to do, although I've never seen this fast rope.. confused.gif How do I use it?

Ok sorry...I've found it.. smile.gif

Also i was wondering if there's anyway of erducing the lag the napalm causes?

Excellent Pack! I am a total goober when it comes to customizing anything, so could you tell me how I change the Heli-Cas support to use the Commanche, the Fixed wing support to use the F-18 and the Extraction to use the ADF S-70? mmm... me newbie!

Cheers crazy.gif

Guest jacobaby

Snypir,

In light of the recent 'arrangement' biggrin.gif maybe I can help you with the effects side of things. But we can discuss that on our forum maybe.
