theavonlady 2 Posted March 13, 2003 Is that last pic really from OFP? Looks like an old train. The sort you would want to strafe with your Thunderbolt or Mustang in a WWII mission.
Stag 0 Posted March 13, 2003 That last is from MS train Simulator. The first two look interesting though.

Eviscerator 0 Posted March 13, 2003 Why on earth would you need trains in ofp? the islands arent nearly big enough to warrant them, i mean, most of the islands are only 7-10km across/high, that would only take a couple of hours to walk! with a bicycle you could do it in much less, if the islands were large industrial mecca's with workers needing to go to and fro id understand, but even the biggest "city" (Lipany) is the size of a tiny english village
Oberon3d 0 Posted March 13, 2003 You just want them as targets ;p
PSC 0 Posted March 13, 2003 In the Northern Sea we (Germany) have a couple of small islands. On one of them, it's name is Wangerooge, there is a small island railroad (narrow-gauge railway, 1m). "Inselbahn" Image Gallery I don't know the size of Wangerooge exactly, but if I'm not completely wrong it's a lot smaller than all the islands from Operation Flashpoint. PSC<span id='postcolor'> narrow gauge railways would fit, but not too much of it, maybe, if for example someone put a track on nogova it would only go from lipany to the airport (or near) and another route to the port

A train would be a great prop and objective in a variety of infantry and saboteur missions. On a custom island the size of Nogova, it wouldn't be bad, either. Especially if the island maker incorporated the track system into the island. Still, from what I've read in the past, OFP isn't designed to guarantee a train's travelling straight on a track, like the many drunk NATO and Russian truck drivers we've all seen many times. Apollo 0 Posted March 13, 2003 Let's not forget those great siege artillery piece's the german's had on their track's during WW2 ,although i don't know their names anymore ,i think "Big Bertha" was one of them ,would be nice to see them modeled in Ofp.Could be cool for sabotage or siege mission's. pzvg 0 Posted March 13, 2003 God people get a freakin' grip, A bloody AIRCRAFT CARRIER that doesn't have sea room to move in, is ok in a tactical ground combat simulation, but a train is not? Put down the mouse and STEP AWAY FROM THE MONITOR. hmmpf,

Oberon3d 0 Posted March 13, 2003 well...what I saw so far from this guy long time ago was static objects...straight pieces of railway and maybe train wagon themselves but nothing makes us think that they work specially because.... -The train might not follow the rail way..... -And very important it cannot pull any vehicle behind that I know... I am the first who would like working trains in game...that and a proper spitfire to blow them with
Jamesia 0 Posted March 13, 2003 yes, arent trains really quite easy? arent they just large tanks? However i can see it being difficult making the train follow the track. it could all be fake however, the last pic not being from operation flashpoint slightly shows that he is willing to fake it. heres my pics of the train MOD that I have been working on.... (heres one with my new island) the drivers position the passengers position and one last cool pic. my MOD looks good doesnt it! I dare someone to email them pics to ofp.info and try and start a whole new generation of ofp wind ups.

Jamesia 0 Posted March 13, 2003 Also those pictures are fake. Someone has been making railway lines (railroad for you americans), but i dont think that they are the actual trains. They are actually the trains from counter-strike level train.
