Just a quick point about the strobes, i have absolutely no idea about the military usage of them but I am a trained Commercial Scuba diver and we use strobes when working at night.  We use strobes to signal an emergency to the dive supervisor, we usually mount them either on the shoulder of our Buoyancy Control Device or on the top strap of an aga mask.  The reasons for them being mounted here is twofold:

1. When you surface unless something is really wrong your head is the highest point out of the water!

2 When you're hanging on to an unconscious buddy, trying to strip your fins off, ditch your weight belt, talk on the radio and check that you aren't going to run out of air you don’t want to be having to wave a torch around at the same time!

I appreciate that this is just the commercial usage of these strobes but don’t forget that seals are still divers and are just as likely to have the same problems as any commercial or recreational diver!

Keep up the great work lads im well impressed with everything you have produced so far and the screenshots for the new stuff have absolutely blown me away!

I really have a big wish to BAS, could you guys put a machinegun on one of "your" Bikes? Because in every movie with Motorcycles there is atleast one guy, whose riding and shooting at the same time. this should be posible.. the Bikes are just modified Cars (in config) am i right?

You guys did a simular thing to the littlebird ah-6?

This would be a really cool effect don´t you think?

Mybe an HK or an m16 or even one of your Delta/ranger pack weapons?

Would really be fun, so you can fight with style biggrin.gif

Not possible, the motorbikes use their own simulation (each vehicle type has a 'simulation' that tells ofp how it acts, which animations to use, which features to enable) motorbikes dont allow weapons on them.

As silly as this idea sounds but please gimmi an reply if you know something.

You could really bring some action in some missions with that!

I made my self a mission with your BAS bikes in the A2 map (desert) Boy was priddy kewl.. i was an russian soldier and i was hiding in the dunes, waiting for an convoy to ambush.

i send the bikes on fullspeed to random waypoint towards the desert..man 1 was jumping right infront of me (over the dune) 10 sec later the next jumped over me from right side...man i should have made a screen lol biggrin.gif

Not a clue...they get released when they get finished, so...whichever is finished first gets released first...

Thanks for the ideas on the SEALs, but dont worry, everything is in hand.

Without a decent ship to board it seems pointless including a boarding ability for the bigger ships, although I do have some sketchy ideas which are being thrown about.

What would interest me is knowing whether players would prefer the BAS SEALs to be compatible with CoC swimming thing.??

I'd rather have BAS make their own swimming script/system, but if that's not possible make it CoC compatible. Since it seems everything other people did BAS has refined, and some things BAS done other people refined, but BAS has done the best in scripting so far so that's why i am for a BAS made swimming script just for the SEAL's and other amphibious unit's you may produce in the future. That's my opinion on the matter.

at least it would be a solution until there are better scripts available... but the CoC scripts seem pretty perfect to me wink.gif

i´d say: just use their script, put in their rebreather in the pack and there we go (dive) smile.gif

Its like this.

We (I) already had plans to make the seals swimmable, I had a "diving car" set up and the technique is exactly what CoC did. CoC beat us to it fair and square, and good luck to them for it. Actually it save us a lot of testing etc which is a big boon at this busy time..

My current thinking is to NOT have the SEALS compatible with any outside scripts, as they are set apart unit, and not some who would readily share their equipment with somebody else.

SO, what extra features if any would you care to see, or anything to take away etc? How is the CoC swimmer behaving in MP?

CoC Divers work wonderfully in Multiplayer!  Everything works just as it does in Single.

Only "extra feature" I can think of is the ability to "throw" a strobe light (either SDU-5E or MS2000 version).  At night, flares just don't cut it for showing your location to extraction aircraft.  It would also be great to designate targets for attack aircraft (watch Blackhawk Down tounge.gif ).

Also, (this is more of a question than a feature), does the OFP engine support functional tactical lights on weapons?

Other than that, keep up the good work!  biggrin.gif

Have two options for swimming, swimming submerged, and swimming with head out of the water.

Also try to add the ability to board a zodiac for fast water extractions.

If CoC's swimming standards meet those required for BAS, I would hope that's what would be used.

I wouldn't want to see these swimming abilities going the way of rotordust scripts, with several out there.

Do away with redundancy! Both CoC and BAS are dependable, reliable and established teams.

Once again, who knows what goodies the future might bring to our benefit by this affiliation.

@Schoeler, i dont know if this is right but i think if you want the diving "vehicle" to function like a boat (having some parts above water) It will have those blue flurries after it, or can you set that in o2/CPP?

Has the auto fire sound glitch been fixed with the new SEALS? That was the only negative with the Rangers and Delta.

What glitch was that? I can probably tell you...

(bleh. 1338 posts, signature was short-lasting)

It was a glitch on autofire - maybe it's because of my computer - but whenever I fired any weapon on auto, it would stutter a bit. Like the indivudual shot sounds were not complete before the next shot sound began.

I don't have this problem with any other weapons except the BAS ones. sad_o.gif

hmm.....I thaught this sound bug was introduced in 1.85 or something, cause I get that glich whenever I fire some weapon on full auto, and that hapens with all the weapons in OFP (even the standard BIS ones...)......... wink_o.gif

yeh, i get that with the machine guns sometimes. It fires WAY too fast and it sounds like clicking instead of firing, and thus degrades my gameplay experience.  sad_o.gif

True, I didn't think about the wake. There has to be a way to overcome this though, at least I would hope!

sincethe ch53 addon was able to hold 35 passengers

is bas going to release a new version of the mh47e???

since the ch53 used some bas scripts so wouldnt it be alrite for him to help u gujys out??
