Ex-RoNiN 0 Posted January 29, 2003 Seems to be an official addon that I deleted by mistake, I get the same error for the Nogova demo screen in the back ground. Any idea what this is?

You mean the opening anim when you start up OFP? How did you fellas manage to do that? There must be some other addon that's bringing this up. Flashpoint.rpt wouldn't by chance have a report on this would it?
Eviscerator 0 Posted January 29, 2003 dont have a flashpoint.rpt, ofp cant seem to make one....
theavonlady 2 Posted January 29, 2003 When did this start happening? Did you install a mod at around the same time into OFP's folders instead of in separate -mod folders?
kegetys 2 Posted January 29, 2003 Do you have the klr installed in res/addons? If so, it might cause problems with the BIS motorcycle in O.pbo
theavonlady 2 Posted January 29, 2003 LOL! That'll teach ya, Eviscerator! Don't say you weren't warned!
hellfish6 7 Posted January 29, 2003 I had this problem. I put the KLR in my addons folder and later took it out (memory map problem struck again) and until I reinstalled it, I kept getting "cannot find addon: stt_klr". When I'd exit a mission or the editor and the Nogova anim came up. Wierd.
JAP 2 Posted January 29, 2003 I had the same problem with kegetys nailgun. Whenever the nogova anim started it gave the error that the nailgun was missing I deleted all kegetys addons and problem was solved. I m having alot of errors also lately since i reinstalled ofp. Created a seperate addon folder but he s not looking in that one, so i guess i have to install Red hammer also Can i install Red Hammer now i got CWC + resistance + 1.90 installed or is it gonna screw up my ofp ? Anybody ? Cheers

Anybody ?<span id='postcolor'> Do not install it, if you can only install it by running the Gold or Gold Upgrade CD. However, if you can just get hold of the RH campaign PBO and the VOICESRH.pbo addon files, manually put them into \campaigns\ and \addons\ respectively and then run the 1.90 RH Compatibility Patch, I would give it a try. If that fails, you must uninstall Resistance, then install Gold and then Resistance again.
JAP 2 Posted January 29, 2003 Hey avon, Thx for the reply. I actualy wanted to install Gold edition to get my regular addon folder working again. I dont want the voices or the campaign cause they ... well you know I just made a folder into flashpoint named addons. I m not using any -addons command in the exe file cause i thought ofp would recognise it. But it seems it doesnt. I think i ll reinstall my whole ofp this weekend then Never had any problems before. Could it be that 1.90 created these probs ? Anyway, Cheers
supergrunt 1 Posted January 29, 2003 it seems to be a problem with the 1.90 patch i got the error message to but if i reinstalled it it would disapear and a other addon error showed up rinstaled that and again a other apeared it all started to give errors with the 1.90 + patches thats what i found out at least
JAP 2 Posted January 29, 2003 That would explain alot when 1.90 is really the prob here. Strange things, he s reporting missing addons, but they show and play ok. When i check the addons are in my res\addon folder so .... Any report from BIS on this ?

Edit: Here's some old discussion about this matter http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=17468 There is a way to get rid of this, but it needs the use of requiredAddons in the addon itself, so addons which rely on resistance stuff and do not have the requiredAddons part cause these errors if they are placed in res/addons dir instead of addons/

pong2cs 0 Posted January 29, 2003 What I don't understand is, do addons go in Flashpoint\Addons or Flashpoint\res\Addons Because both ways seem to work, and I've also gotten that error in the Nogova intro, but it's gone now...

Here's a summary of your problems: 1. Putting unofficial addons into \Res\Addons is risky. Search The FAQ for "unofficial addons". 2. The OFP\Addons folder was introduced in version 1.20 (if I remember correctly). Therefore, anyone who installs OFP 1.00 and jumps straight to 1.75 will not have an Addons folder. If you ask me, this was a bad decission or oversight in OFP: Resistance's install process. 3. Manually defining an OFP\Addons folder for the above case does not appear to work. 4. The only alternative for users without a recognized OFP\Addons folder is to use the -mod parameter on a shortcut's command line to force OFP to reference a user defined folders with an Addons subfolder within. 5. Another solution is to uninstall Resistance, upgrade OFP 1.00 to 1.20 or higher and reinstall Resistance. This will cause an Addons folder to be created by the install process and it will be automatically referenced by OFP whenever OFP is executed.
