I was not aware IGI 2 is being developed by BIS. wow.gif But who knows - some people stay sometimes working suspiciously late in the night here ... . tounge.gif

then i guess we'll take it as a no.

but staying late can be explained by pictured of those alcohol bottles we saw from ofp.de interview tounge.gif

i saw the clip where IGI2 developers explain by playing a simple game, and did not look like OFP engine, especially in indoors.

I'll start getting hyped up about OFP2 once the prices start going down. biggrin.gif

I'm sick of getting led on by developers waiting for a game or mod to be released for month after month. Makes me lose interest in the game.

I had thought it was using the OFP engine but it isn't.  Has BIS considered licensing their engine like Id did with their Quake engines??

Also I have played the IGI2 demo and must say it was sad walking up to vehicles and not being able to get in.  I'm going back to playing OFP (not that I left, but you do have to turn the computer off at night)!!  I love you OFP!!!  You show so much quality!  Having tides and stars is a little crazy but you rule, OFP!  Sorry to have associated IGI2 with OFP!  It was speculation on my part, before seeing the demo.

IGI2 is being developed by a norwegian company called Innerloop (the same company who made IGI1 and Joint Strike Fighter). The IGI1-engine is a heavily modified JSF-engine. The IGI2-engine is even more modifed/upgraded.

We'll have to wait and see for the final product to arrive to see if it's any good , but I'm not holding my breath (IGI1 was pretty much an arcade-game with reallistic gun-sounds).

One thing I really don't like about IGI2 is that it will include DM, TDM, CTF etc but no coop crazy.gif

Wow, thats some a pretty damn nice picture smile.gif

IGI2 beta 0.401 really sucks, you cant be connected to a server for 30 min, you just get disconnected.

I´ll try it again some later version but right now its real crap, alot of other stuff Im not even gonna mention wink.gif

IGI2 is a joke... It's something you could have expected 2-3 years ago.

Just like you turned gay, 2-3 years ago.

C'mon, you can shoot through walls and doors and boxes! The only thing is the attackers can win this map way too easily. crazy.gif

Such maturity.

Anyway, if I can have a word about IGI 2. First of all, it is a public BETA, not demo. At least the e-mail they sendt me mentioned the closed beta I had been playing now was public.

IGI 2 is not a realistic game. It has nothing of the feeling in OFP 1985 / Resistance. IGI 2 reminds me most of all of Quake, CS, BF1942, RTCWS, UT and so on. It has the same kind of jumping around while grunting and shooting with Godlike accuracy (and crosshair), sliding down mountain walls without taking any damage and so on.

The beta testers treated it like it was UT or something, and even though there will most certainly be clans playing IGI 2 and know the word "team work", they will play it like CS, UT and that kind of games.

Because it looks and behaves like those. I am not even willing to discuss whether it's realistic or not, because it is NOT, period. Those who play it, play it for the fun part 100%, they are not bothered with IGI 2 not being true to life in any ways.

It is not my kind of games, and I stopped playing the closed beta long time ago. Every time I found something that looked like a bug, someone had already reported it xx times, so they were playing it a lot.

So it must be good at something, anyway. The AI will be heavily enhanced since IGI (1), which was more of a disaster than a computer game.

I will not buy IGI 2 anyway. It's just not my kind of game. BF1942 players will probably like it.

BTW - never argue with BF1942 players that planes do not fly like that i.r.l. and weapons are not that accurate biggrin.gif J/K

I don't think that BF1942 players will like it 'cause it's even worse then BF1942 and the other games in the same genre.

It adds nothing we haven't seen before so I see no future for it.
