GuiX 0 Posted December 13, 2002 Hi everybody ! I would like to make different sugestions... That would be nice if you (I mean BIS) Â can just do ONE big patch (2.0 ?) with ALL the previous upgrades (Flags pack, Upgrade 1.20, 1.30, Red Hammer + Resistance fixes, including Resistance standalone server, with pehaps some cool maps made by the fans, etc...). Moreover it would be really great if you can add a lot of technical and graphical improvements, 6.1 sound compatibility, integrated AA, support of pixel shaders, optimisations for the future GeForce FX, better skins or models for the characters, bump-mapping, special weather effects such as wind or rain or T-storms or snow or, why not, birds or animals ? The idea of making one big patch (it will be huge, i know, but that's not a problem : for 56K owners, they can buy video games magasines with CD's) is really a good thing, i think... So... What do u think ? PS: if you have other suggestions for the future 2.0 patch, just add comments <>_<>

ralphwiggum 6 Posted December 13, 2002 when BIS tried to address all 1.75 problems in 1.85 ppl had to wait and they were all whining like hell. either way BIS goes, ppl will whine. i'd rather have them fix it step by step.
Harnu 0 Posted December 13, 2002 I think he means to keep fixing it step by step. But to put all the patches into a single file for download. That way after a re-install you don't have to download and install them seperatly.
mr. Duck 0 Posted December 13, 2002 They could make the make one patch out of v1.20 1.30 and 1.46, you would make me hapy with it (have resistance but won't play it) But anyway I dont want to push them in making that kind of patch since I assume that they already have alot of things in their heads... Harnu 0 Posted December 14, 2002 Why not play resistance it's great. And it would be nice to have a bundle of resistance patches too.
mr. Duck 0 Posted December 14, 2002 Ever tried it on a PIII with 64mb?? It sucks then... Trust me...
hovmand 0 Posted December 14, 2002 Cant see the problem in installing 3 patches it takes like maybe 5-10 mins. And a big patch would take just as long.

Balschoiw 0 Posted December 14, 2002 Nonsense. BIS already supports com like no other company I know but people seem to want more and more and more. Of course for free... I hope BIS put all the energy into OFP 2 right now, a product I will certainly buy. Don´t forget that making patches and releasing them costs a lot of money and BIS already has invested a lot of time into free patches, that do not only fix bugs but improved the product a lot.
RED 0 Posted December 14, 2002 Yes I agree 100%, I would rather hear of them working on OFP2 than creating a large patch that not maybe people would ever need. The patches are easy enough to install as it is, the Resistance patch 1.91 is only 15 meg. RED
HellToupee 0 Posted December 14, 2002 ofp 2 is just a speculation, for all we know it might jus upgrade our ofp.
Jinef 2 Posted December 15, 2002 i think they should just create a large editor pack with loads of objects and buildings like foxholes which the community seem to be trying to make for themselves. This pack would shut us up for a while as we run around all the buildings playing hide and seek and thus freeing up BIS to work on other projects and maybe OFP 2 or whatever they're gonna call it. I would much prefer to pay the full price for a much better game than install endless patches over a few years gradually upping it towards the same quality of retail products. shadow 6 Posted December 16, 2002 I just hope BIS are working on a OFP2 from scratch and won't say a word untill it is released. The wait from the first public demo until OFP v1.0 felt like years and I don't want to re-live that again As for the patches...well you install OFP and OFP:R , then apply the 1.91 patch. What's the big deal here?

Ruskiesrule 0 Posted December 16, 2002 I think they could get some of them features working before x-mas, they just wouldn't release it cuz of bugs searching. But then again, i should imagen they'd just release beta and release fixes later!
HellToupee 0 Posted December 17, 2002 theirs not much i think ofp could be other than MP with JIP which means big games, multiple gunners on vechicles, sorted any probs with cliping and can walk inside vechicles. Wat ild like to see is a built in mp mode similar to rts but with realistic things like u dont just build buildings u capture them get reinforiced, can build camps etc and a chain of command for single palyer and multiplayer.
