Powerslide 0 Posted November 7, 2002 Sigma-6 has done an update to the M113 pack. It adds two new units, Canadian UN M113 (Has .50 cal) and Canadian UN M113A3 (Has .50 cal). It also includes a few fixes such as a better C6 sound, more realistic fire rate and has had the track skirts removed as per Canadian units. We have also updated the CPack and troops. Added is a C9 (open sites), new optics for many rifles and also many new sounds. We have also fixed ai dispersion due to complaints about poor shooting by ai as well as added shadows to all rifles. The pack includes C7A1, C7M203, C8A1, C8 Carbine, C9A1, C9 and C6. Â The Leo tank pack has also been updated, we fixed some name problems, turned down the rate of fire on C6 and changed the C6 sound. I have also started work on Canadian prairies terrain. It has new textures and new objects such as hay bales, wheat fields, oil tanks and drill rigs. Â Â j/k<span id='postcolor'> When the LAV comes out I just hope they do like the DKM mod team did with the Patria and that is to release both a Canadian version and also a "international" version that could be used by any country because the LAV is also used by the USMC and I would really love to use it with Frandsen's U.S.M.C. addon. Otherwise it's fairly useless for those of us who aren't Canadian. If not then all I can do is just download them, play with them a bit, and then wish that I could use them in one of my missions... which I can't because I know very little about the Canadian military other then a bit about their service in Somalia and Afghanistan. So to the guys making the LAV's, PLEASE make a international version as lot of countries use the LAV's. Thanks. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>

Eviscerator 0 Posted November 7, 2002 i think the LAV III is a different model to the LAV-25 the US marine corps use, i think its more modern
vade_101 0 Posted November 7, 2002 I belive the US Military is planning to purchase the LAV-III. There is however some serious opposition to the purchase from advocates of "real" armour. have a look at this webpage for some real vitriol about the LAV
KDF 0 Posted November 7, 2002 Yep the US Army is buying a turret-less APC version of the LAVIII that they're calling the "Stryker". They're also getting a fire-support version with an externally mounted, auto-loading 105mm gun. There's alot of political and armchair general back biting going on about it..some of it spread here, New Zealand, where our army is going to start receiving LAVIIIs next year. Our ones will be near indentical to the Canadian ones, with 25mm turret etc.

The U.S. uses the same version that Canada does, afterall, the LAV's come from the same factory. The LAV III is state of the art stuff. Tyler
