the_oper8r 2 Posted January 29, 2017 (edited) You should try the South African Reconnaissance Commandos eventually, I have yet to see a good representation of their camo in Arma 3. Edited January 29, 2017 by the_oper8r

jarrad96 1940 Posted January 30, 2017 Working on the Philippines terrorist organisation of "Abu Sayyaf Group" They are rather well known for kidnapping Western tourists for money, and the leaders of the group were known associates to Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda earlier in the 2000's, however in 2014 the leadership has pledged allegiance to Islamic State, and has adopted their flag as the ASG's logo.

jarrad96 1940 Posted January 31, 2017 Pacific Abu Sayyaf Group Released ASG forces threaten an Australian hostage, Warren Rodwell, in 2012. ASG elite forces have heavier armaments such as G3 rifles and have more camo uniforms compared to the regular militia fighters. In real life these would be represented by the Al Qaeda trained forces within the faction, rather than the domestically trained main force. Abu Sayyaf team at early dawn. Making use of captured civilian sailing vessels- the group regularly moves between Manilla, Mindanao, Basilan, Jolo and have contacts in mainland Malaysia. A Special Forces Faction [SFF] that adds the Philippines terrorist organisation of Abu Sayyaf Group "Bearer of the Sword". The faction is accurate to a 2011-2016 timeline. The Faction- Abu Sayyaf are a Muslim Extremist insurgency in the Philippines. They are armed with a mix of firearms, from AK47's, M4A1's and G3 rifles, supported by heavier weapons like M60's and mortars captured from the Army, or gained in drug trading with the Mexican Cartels. Uniforms vary, but are usually anything in a neutral color scheme, be that M81 woodland, Tiger stripe or just flat colors. They are well known for making heavy use of IED's (Improvised Explosive Devices) and other traps. Historical Info- They are a splinter cell from the Moro National Liberation Front (segmented in 1991) and their aim is to establish an independent Islamic state within the Pacific region. The faction rose in power during the early 2000's after the leader of the ASG formed a personal connection with Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda, who assisted them with weapons and training. Since 2014 however, they have changed allegiance to the Islamic State. The faction primarily funds itself via dealing with the Mexican drug cartels, or via hostage taking from Western nations. They have beheaded hostages whose money was not received. Specialist Elements- The ASG have a small core force of internationally trained forces, who are equipped with superior gear and weaponry to the main force. They carry the G3 rifle or M4A1's by standard, and have camo uniforms. They carry the G3 rifle or M4A1's by standard, and have camo uniforms. In real life these would be represented by the Al Qaeda trained forces within the faction, rather than the domestically trained main force. Supports- The ASG are supported primarily by light vehicles like technicals and trucks, but also have a sizeable naval force of assault boats and captured civilian sailing vessels. They also have access to a light mortar. deathwatch4 89 Posted February 2, 2017 Absolutely gorgeous, any plans for the Japanese Special Forces Group? Basically just a Japanese version of the U.S. Navy SEALS and Rangers.
jarrad96 1940 Posted February 2, 2017 If I get Type 2 camo, yeah, why not. Right now I'm mostly sticking with African, European, Middle Eastern Militaries and US groups because that what I have the camo patterns for. I do possibly have some other camos in the works or donated to me as well, so you'll start to see more national camos (like Flectarn and the Colombian camo) used a bit more- it all depends on what I have permission for/people donate.
Lerry_BR 430 Posted February 2, 2017 I think TRYK Uniforms have Type 4 camo or something like that.
jarrad96 1940 Posted February 2, 2017 So, expanded the faction- it's now 'German Special Forces' instead of just KSM (German Naval SF, Kommando Spezialkräfte Marine), because it includes some 2035 KSK (Kommando Spezialkräfte) units- There's a squad sized element of 2035 units available as 'KSK', while the bulk of the faction is under 'KSM', and included air support, light vehicles (Fennek) and the Leopard. The focus of the mod is still on modern day (2015) German SOF, I just added a few units more suitable for Arma 3 campaign timeline settings if desired.

jarrad96 1940 Posted February 5, 2017 German Special Forces released KSM fireteam, Turkey, 2015. KSM divers infiltrating a beach under the cover of night. KSM units in Tropentarn version for arid fighting- they have options for both Flectarn and Tropentarn. Leopard 2 MBT. KSK 2035 version, in Multicam/Flectarn mix camo, armed with 6.5 G36's and the HK121. Special Operation Forces faction [SFF] that adds the German Kommando Spezialkräfte Marine (KSF, the German Naval Special Forces) and Kommando Spezialkräfte (KSK, the Army Special Forces) - The bulk of the mod is focused on the KSM from a 2010-2015 timeline. The KSK are are equipped as a fictional 2035 faction.Historical Info- The Kommando Spezialkräfte Marine were originally formed under the name of Küstenjäger-Abteilung during early WW2, and as a naval special forces unit fought throughout the war. After the end of WW2 the unit, now referred to as 'Commando Frogmen' 'Kampfschwimmer' were formed in the fear of Soviet aggression and the unit underwent several changes as it became increasing specialised alongside other Special Forces groups. The Faction- The KSM are accurate to a 2010-2015 timeline and have options for both Flectarn (Forest) camo and Tropentarn (Desert) camo units. They are armed primarily with heavily customised G36 rifles, MP7A1 PDW's and Hk417's, with the MG3 for a support weapon and the USP-45 Tactical as a primary sidearm. Despite the recent adoption of the HK416 among German Special Forces units only the KSK have them as their primary weapon, with the G36 continuing to serve as the primary weapon for the faction. They wear Opscore helmets. Attachments are lightweight red dots, ANPEQ-15 lasers and Elcan Spectres. The faction lacks AT assets but had CQC Breacher units armed with MP7's integrated into the squads to make them more effective at close ranges such are urban areas or offshore oil rigs. Specialist Elements- As a Naval unit, the KSM have dedicated diver units, armed with supressed G36's and Mp7A1's for sea inflitrations, and also have a small, 2035 set KSK force. The KSK 2035 forces are equipped in the fictional Multicam/Flectarn mix pattern, and armed with 6.5 Caseless G36's and HK121's. They wear a mix of Airframe and Opscore helmets. Attachments are Eotech XPS-3's, Silencers and D-BALL Lasers. Supports- The German forces are supported by air and ground assets- the Fennek light recon vehicle and the Leopard 2 MBT provide them with substantial firepower if needed, and they also have helicopters available for transport- the German Navy Lynx and the NH-90 transport helicopter. A small recon and scouting 2 man element mounted in an armed Fennek is also an option. Faction has full Editor, Zeus and ALiVE support (faction name KSM ) Also supports ACE3 Medical system. jarrad96 1940 Posted February 6, 2017 Is there any interest for total conversions of the Arma 3 Campaign? I was considering doing overhauls of- NATO (for modern US forces with OCP, M4A1's and such, and possibly a second for Germany 2035, similar to the KSK) FIA/ OPFIA/ INDFIA forces, giving them western weapons and maybe expanding the unit roster a bit. AAF (Maybe in M81 uniforms and older western gear like the FAL or G3?) CSAT (Replaced by PLA Forces similar to my existing PLA mod) Syndikate (To expand the faction with a whole load of additional units, vehicles and weapons to make them comparable to my other Insurgent forces) Gendarme/Police (To add larger teams and possibly a SWAT type element in squad size, rather then just a 2 man patrol.) Thoughts?
