.kju 3245 Posted October 19, 2016 I have started work on a prototype based on my Blitzkrieg game mode. The basic idea is to have every player command a tank, drive and shoot, using Killzone Kid's one-man-tank script, and capture/defend zones. The basic setup for the start: Extra mission parameter to enable the "WOT" mode Get a random tank on respawn Have an hidden and silent gunner to steer while the players act as gunner Option to switch to driver and commander position Unable to exit the tank under any condition (so no infantry, just tank only) Ability to rearm and repair in uncontested zones (how to avoid people just respawning though?) Ability to repair oneself when the tank gets disabled (tracks/gun/turret) - unable to do anything during the repair phase though (length like 30 seconds?) (repair whole tank or just the disabled component?) Possible to play with AI and vs AI opponents too (tank only too) (AI is able to capture/defend too, as well as doing flanking and Search&Destroy) Further enhancements would be: Ability to select the tank model while dead in a dialog (how to avoid everyone just getting "the best one"?) (one could use the bonus points system for capturing/defending as resource) (other ways to acquire bonus points?) Option to have AI (and players?) also use planes, AAA vehicles - maybe for defenders even AT guns (using trucks for transport) and AT infantry (using jeeps for transport) Tech levels in mission parameters to configure available of tanks/vehicles Multi human crew mode for MP - using the fire teams and its dialog to define crew positions (commander, gunner, driver, loader (in IFA3)) Potential long term stuff: Ranks/experience system Capture territory mode with persistence (progress tracking beyond one play session) More advanced resource system determining availability of tank/vehicle types Feedback, ideas, comments welcome :) 6 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

.kju 3245 Posted October 19, 2016 Tanks in this regards means APCs (wheeled, tracked) and MBTs. Not sure if ARTY make sense in the current forum though. Also forgot about the commander class - while technically the class system is probably replaced by the different tank classes, it might be an idea to keep a "team commander" that has special abilities or allows team respawn.
