OK, this is getting away from the point.

 

The problem is:

 

If you are prone and crawling towards an aware prone enemy AI, they will ALWAYS spot you before you can see them because they see through the grass.

 

That's the main issue

Can you be specific as to what faction you're classing as the enemy, if it's CSAT, hardly surprising with their own TI and IR scanning devices, just like NATO troops.

There's countless video's out there that can refute what you're saying, especially from GOM, why are the enemy "aware" you realise that once they become aware, they're actively searching for you based on your previous spotted  location, if you continue to advance on the same line, it's simple Infantry skills 101.....do a 90 degree turn, break the original LOS, and there's no reason you can't sneak up on them.

Place 3 OPFOR CSAT 3-4 M apart in a Tanoan Corn field, have their way point pass within you position 1-2 M's and remain prone or kneeling, 9/10 they won't spot you.

I can't count the times, especially on tanoa, where I could successfully break LOS, sprint 50m like hell and flank the enemy, just to see that they're still facing the last position where they've seen me.

Just imagine the player uproar if BI added AI that would cover their flanks/hunker down into a 360° defensive formation if the current whereabouts of a former threat are unknown.

exactly mate, it's not always about the AI's tactics, it's about how you conduct yours.

I managed to get close enough to a group the other night to place 6 bouncing betties around them, sneak back into the shadows, run across their front, fire at them and run......they all sought cover and detonated the AP mines, funny as!! :D
