esfumato 75 Posted June 8, 2016 Another thing. Include in the APEX Expansion the ADR-97 submachinegun. It have done already it's pourpose to be a tutorial about how to use steam workshop, it have 40k suscribers but then for don't know what reason it was updated with another mod called "better ADR-97" and later someone did a config to allow te weapon to use joint rails scopes... http://steamcommunit...s/?id=671389432 it is a waste to don't have it included in the game, specially for multiplayer, by now, servers that use mods are empty most of the time, so in my opinion it should be included in Apex.
Jackal326 1181 Posted June 8, 2016 I've voted yes, primarily because I hate the Workshop (and the crappy launcher), its implementation and the EULA.
Wiki 1558 Posted June 8, 2016 The only thing I wonder is:Will they make more unofficial addons?
Bitesrad 481 Posted June 8, 2016 Id love to see it in the expansion, but I dont really mind if they keep it a workshop exclusive. It's a good way to promote usage of the workshop and I'd hope the devs would add more small addons to it. Just little things the devs can work on as a hobby/side project. Maybe a kozlice shotgun :D
veles-zv 176 Posted June 8, 2016 I've voted yes, primarily because I hate the Workshop (and the crappy launcher), its implementation and the EULA. Steam workshop needs to die... 80% of the mods are incorrectly categorized, are stolen mods from other sites, dumb stupid missions with even dumber memes posted... and valve doesn't do anything about it... also it auto updates which sucks unless you make backup files of those mods with a different name.
dunedain 48 Posted June 9, 2016 I don't mind either way, I'm more interested in getting my hands on that MP5 coming with Apex tbh. Why should Valve do anything about it? It's BIS' responsability to monitor the place. Valve only offers the tools. Anyway the whole point of the workshop is to encourage contributions and for people to share their work, the fact the quality isn't always and that people wrongly use categories is no argument. The stealing of mods is a true shame though but BIS could do something about it as well. I find it odd that you can be exluded from anywhere on Steam but somehow the workshop would be any different. Anyway tldr, at least 375k people do use the workshop seeing this is the number of people suscribed to CBA. I'ld guess this is a huge success for Bohemia, and the people humble enough who just like their mods to spread large, at least.
Guest Posted June 9, 2016 what is adr 97? An official mod which add a P90 to the game, under the name of ADR97 (for licences reasons I guess).

I mean really most of the real arma fans will be downloading from Armaholic instead... also how can I like the steam workshop when there is many issues with it such as pages no loading up, or taking forever and then with the incorrect categorized mods where its not fun selecting helicopters box and then looking at a large amounts of incorrectly placed mods 49/50 being maps, bad reskins, and missions... the only thing good about steam workshop is that its fast and easy if you know what you are you looking for such as CBA which is great because it auto updates... Sniperwolf572 758 Posted June 10, 2016 Why wouldn't they care about Workshop? It's the most "official" addon repository as you are going to get. They wouldn't bother implementing a ton of features and devoting the Launcher to it if it wasn't something they didn't care about. Besides "most of the real arma fans" goes down the drain fast when you consider just how many people use the workshop. I currently have around 20,000 active subscribers for an addon that was made obsolete by inclusion in the base game two patches ago. Imagine what a mod like CBA has or RHS would have if it was on the workshop. The only thing that makes the Workshop somewhat ... problematic ... is the EULA. The only real reason I'd rather have this in the base game is so it doesn't have to be a dependency that you have to think about before doing anything with it. I think That can be corrected easily if users comment, rate, the good and the bad stuff uploaded to steamworkshop. If you use the most rated filter on workshop you will get a list of the top mods available for arma 3 giving a good feeling. The problem is, that the workshop just throw to you the most recent uploads. So you get an overwhelming bunch of crap that make you run out of it instantaneously.
