Ingame Map Satellite image Bottom Is Not generating?

Unrelated , Does anyone know the sizes for PictureMaps / Loading screens? Pboproject said power of 2 numbers, i try 2048x2048 and it doesnt look right

This happens some times on my map too. Not always. In latest builds the bottom of my map doesn't get textures either.

Managed to fix this problem.

 

Resized my sat image + normals image + mask image to 2048x2048

 

Then used the following settings:

I know, I did have it at 3 times the size then follow by 2 times the size but it would break the map.

You are lucky to get that. A while back we'd get stripes all over the place. After BI attempted to fix it what we are left with is what you got.

cut your tile size down to 512x512, that will make the bug alot smaller then. Better to have a small bug instead of a low res sat map :)

yes standard for Arma 3 maps is 1mt/px. resolution!

anyone know a fix for better satellite qualtiy something you would see from altis?  - i export standard L3DT image 2048x2048 and its sufficient enough for mountain rock >  below

When putting custom rock i get this effect , same export settings with terrain builder ->  but in photoshop it is so much more detail ?

You need a bigger sat image. I have a 4096 map like you have set up, but my sat image is 40960x4096. I have it split into 4 images as Photoshop is mega laggy with that big image.

 

The reason you can see better detail in photoshop is you seeing it at its default res, but in arma its being stretched over the whole terrain.

40960 x 4096 was that a typo.    - how do you split image into 4 image / tiles from photoshop to terrain builder. 

 also is it possible to make cell size 20 with 40960-grid   terrain size = 81920 ?

oops yeah typo, should be 40960 x 40960. I guess you could just use the guides in photoshop and copy paste each quarter. I did mine with global mapper, when I first exported the image.

not 81920, try 819200. Not sure how a 800k map would do...... i'm pretty sure we are all interested in seeing the results of those who test the engine boundaries. You should try it out and post the results. Good luck with making a high res sat image for a terrain that size.

In photoshop go to image/canvas size and change the size to 20480x20480 then put the anchor point dot in one of the four corners, depending on which tile you want to start with.

Then in tb you set your coordinates appropriatley for the location of each tile. So your bottom left tile is definatley gunna be 200000: 0,000. Top left i think is 220480:0,000 and so on. Can't quite remember atm but those do sound about right.
