Capt Childs 178 Posted February 28, 2016 4th Marine Raider Battalion Realism Unit The 4th Marine Raider Battalion Realism Unit, aka 4th MRB, is a realism unit in the Arma 3 community. We simulate a fictional unit within the Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC) of the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). The 4th MRB is structured and organized identical to a real life MARSOC battalion, with attached supporting USSOCOM units. The 4th MRB was founded by long-serving members of a different Arma 3 realism unit which emulates another real life United States Marine Corps Unit. The 4th MRB attempts to maintain the discipline, professionalism, and esprit de corps of real US Marine special operators. The fun and excitement members of this unit enjoy is the result of the difficult and challenging operations we are asked to perform and in developing skills and unique tactics commonly practiced by special operators within the special operations community. These typically include (though are not limited to) direct action missions, special reconnaissance, foreign internal defense, counter-insurgency, unconventional warfare, maritime interdiction, counter-narco terrorism, hostage rescue, preparation of the environment, security force assistance, gas & oil platform operations, and special clandestine operations. Based out of Marine Camp Currin, Bozacaada, Turkey - the unit currently consists 4th Marine Raider Battalion, 4th Marine Raider Support Battalion, and associated SOCOM supporting elements from 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) and 27th Special Operations Group, 27th Special Operations Wing. The 4th MRB is an immersion-orientated, role-playing realism unit. By considering an application you have similar interests. Capt Childs 178 Posted April 18, 2016 On 4/15/2016 at 1:42 PM, Capt Childs said: This is advance notice that MSOC M 4th MRB, A Co 5/160th SOAR (A) and elements of 27 SOG, 27 SOW will be deploying overseas on extended operation as of Thu 12May16. All weekly training schedules of active personnel will be conducted whilst on deployment in-theater. For the duration of deployment all listed units will be assigned to SOCAFRICA under USAFRICOM. You have approximately 1 month to ensure your domestic affairs are appropriately in order. Your team chief or detachment commander will assist you as required. Ensure you familiarize yourself with AFRICOM's General Counseling for the Traveler to Africa. We can't tell you where you might go, or what your mission might be. MARSOC marines embrace the unknown, the unexpected. But for some MARSOC represents the next step. A unique challenge. For that, you must be prepared. MARSOC operators are seasoned and mature, driven critical-thinkers who get things right the first time. We can't tell you where you might go. We can't tell you what your mission might be. What we can tell you is; tomorrow will be different. Come stop by our forums at 4thmrb.net

Capt Childs 178 Posted December 12, 2016 We're very proud that a little over a year later (stood up 11Nov15) the 4th Marine Raider Battalion, or 4th MRB is going strong and has remained true to its original founding principals. Currently deployed to Tanoa as part of SOTF-916 on Operation Verdant Gate; an ongoing joint counter-narcotics mission in support of local law enforcement. Things have turned a little hairy in recent weeks as the significant organized crime element on the island have become increasingly well armed, to the point of verging on insurgency... Capt Childs 178 Posted May 7, 2017 On Sun 02Apr17 MSOC M 4th MRB and A Co 5/160th SOAR (A) deployed to Kunar Province, Afghanistan under Operation Gatecrasher. Tasked by SOCCENT to deploy deep in-country and counter the activities of [redacted], an insurgent group currently conducting asymmetric warfare across the Pakistan border with relative impunity against the government of Afghanistan and its NATO allies. Over the past month various combat operations have culminated in MSOT 8410 and select Nightstalker assets securing an abandoned US forward operating base, and are now using FOB Corium to conduct counterinsurgency operations against foreign fighters destabilizing the region. The strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack. The Marines are looking for a few good men, but MARSOC are looking for a few good Marines. Every day you need to be different and better and growing. If you have what it takes, come and take your place alongside us. 4thmrb.net
Capt Childs 178 Posted May 20, 2018 Strength of the Wolf is the Pack 0372 Critical Skills Operator: the core of a Marine Special Operations Team (MSOT) is the Critical Skills Operator (CSO). The same attributes that make a good virtual Marine and a determined individual are the same attributes that make you successful as a virtual operator. Mission sets change and the battlefields change, but the core individual does not change. We seek these individuals and we're not worried about your previous experience. Diversity adds to a team and serves to increase its problem solving and lethality. We demand a lot from our virtual Marines. Every day you need to be different and better and growing. If you have what it takes, come and take your place alongside us. Because we started out as virtual Marines, we’re better virtual special operators. Sun 01Apr17: MSOC M 4th MRB and A Co 5/160th SOAR (A) deployed to the Ennedi Massif in Chad under Operation Hard Spear. Tasked by SOCAFRICA to establish themselves in the sandstone desert, then conduct search and destroy missions against local warlord Colonel Ibrahim Al-Khalifa and his Janjaweed militia, primarily targeting the destruction of any and all motorized, mechanized or armored vehicles - in coordination with USAF 27 SOG 27 SOW. Capt Childs 178 Posted July 6, 2018 #Declassified for immediate release: Sun 01Jul18, Operation Hard Spear 07-18, Darfur Province, Sudan US special operations Marines in conjunction with US Army special operations rotary wing aviators and USAF aircraft have completed the destruction of destabilizing mechanized and armored vehicles, along with artillery pieces in the hands of the Janjaweed militia. Their leader, Colonel Ibrahim Al-Khalifa has so far eluded US forces in Chad and western Sudan, but remains a high priority target. What are you waiting for? http://4thmrb.net/forums/index.php?/forum/5-recruiting-office/ Currently attached to 4th Marine Raider Battalion, is A Co 5/160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne), better known as Night Stalkers. Using highly modified special operations Chinooks, Black Hawks and Little Birds, their mission is to provide helicopter aviation support for special operations forces. This primarily means assault and reconnaissance, usually at night, at high speed, at low altitude, on short notice. A rare opportunity awaits; the Nightstalkers are currently recruiting. Do you have Task Force Brown in you? Six guns don't miss!
Capt Childs 178 Posted August 19, 2018 #Declassified for immediate release: Sun 19Aug18, Operation Hard Spear, Africa Approximately one month ago, US special operations Marines of the 4th Marine Raider Battalion successfully apprehended the leader of the Janjaweed militia of Sudan, Colonel Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, who was wanted by the UN and ICC for his part in war crimes, genocide, and causing human suffering within his own country and across the border in neighbouring Chad. Today the US Department of State turns over Colonel Al-Khalifa to the United Nations for trial under international law. The DoD is unwilling, at this stage, to discuss the nature or location of Colonel Al-Khalifa's arrest, due to ongoing operational security concerns. Now... having returned from the African theatre, 4th Marine Raider Battalion is closing out on a little over a month's pre-deployment work-up training and preparation for their next overseas deployment. Watch the action - or be part of it! What are you waiting for? http://4thmrb.net/forums/index.php?/forum/5-recruiting-office/

mattis 147 Posted December 2, 2020 The 4th MRB is currently deployed on Operation Prime Trend, to Afghanistan. We redeployed to a mountainous region close to the Pakistan border where ISIS and Al Qaeda have settled in presumably because they don't think anyone will find them. We'll see, won't we?? Watch our videos on Youtube and see how we do. Visit our unit website when you have a chance and see the interesting articles and information about the unit. mattis 147 Posted January 23, 2021 The 4th MRB has been redirected to a different TAOR in southern Anijay Province after being reinforced by a battalion of the 10th Mountain Division. The new assignment is under code name Operation Latent Trend as it is meant to support the efforts of the initial operation. ISIS-Khorasan has built up a support network in and around the Pakistan border which is a mountainous and hilly area with the potential to conceal movements of troops and equipment across the border. We post videos of our missions and operations each Friday and those videos can be viewed on our unit website and YouTube channel: http://youtube.com/c/4thmrbNet Below is a recent video from this new operation:
mattis 147 Posted February 25, 2021 The 4th MRB is currently deployed to the mountainous region of southern Afghanistan and along the Pakistan border. mattis 147 Posted March 20, 2021 The 4th Marine Raider Battalion Realism Unit as of this date is still deployed in southern Afghanistan along the Pakistan border, but we seem to spend more time fighting in Pakistan than Afghanistan. We continue to publish new mission videos each Friday on Youtube at: http://youtube.com/c/4thmrbNet STILL ACTIVE AND HEALTHY!
