Overview:

After ISAF's retreat from Afghanistan, Afghan security forces shoulder the load of the fighting themselves, engaging in a continous effort to bring stability to their country.

As I commented on Steam, it is a well done mission. I really enjoyed it.

Just a few suggestions:

1. In the very beginning of the mission I got a script error (KRON something), I guess the UPS script.

2. In the briefing the mission name was filled %20 instead of space.

3. In the loading screen the mission name was too long and didn't fit into the picture.

4. In the briefing, the sections are not in the best order. IMHO, the first have to be the Situation and the the Mission, Execution... the others' order doesn't matter.

5. One of the intersection, there was a bunch of dogs. They don't move and they were to close. I guess you put them to run up and down. But if was a little bit strange.

6. When I bring the PoI back to the mosque and call the car, the PoI didn't enter the car, just stand next to the mosque and stare the car. The car also just stand there.

But, believe me, these are just tiny problems. The mission was good. I really enjoyed it: good atmosphere. Thanks for make this. Keep up the good work!

thank you for your feedback, I will try to implement what you pointed out. Also, I added the Steam and Armaholic links to the first post.

EDIT: Here are the changes and some questions that need to be answered before upload version 1.1:

1) Cannot find that Kron_trig_civ thing in the mission.sqm

2) Corrected

3) Name shortened

4) How do I order the briefing sections? Shuffling them from left to right does not work....

5) Dogs moved out ot the way

6) This is intentional. The pickup car would sometimes break down or cut a tire, preventing it from appearing and the mission from ending.

simple yet effective mission with nice urban firefight. good use of great addons.

4. I use an sqf file to create the tasks and briefing sections. But probably you put these on the editor with "modules", am I right? I think you cannot change the order in the editor. But If you are brave (and make a backup before do), open the mission.sqm file with a text editor (Notepad), find the briefing module segments and change the order there. If it will not work, restore the file from backup.

Yes bardosy you are right, I placed down via the editor. Thank you for the hint, I will try this out (after backing up my mission of course). :)

EDIT: Just tried to mess with the briefing logics in the mission.sqm, did not work. Well, I have to really take care of what part of the briefing to place down first next time....

I get the error "you cannot play this mission because A3_data_F_curator_characters, lop_c_men, has been deleted

Hi gentlemen,

 

thank you for notifying me about the error. I tried to repair the mission.sqm since then, but to no avail... it will take some time to remake it from scratch, I am afraid.

I just resurrected my mission and rebuilt it with different addons. Mods, please delete the "ANP" from the title, because the player is now using Afghan National Army, not Police.

 

If a separate download as an alternative to Steam is necessary, please speak up anybody.

Sure thing, next time I think I will do something in a greener setting, maybe some NATO exercise to highlight recent tensions with Russia.

Hey Roadkill, thank your for editing the title and informing me of full editing capabilities. ;)

 

EDF troops WILL get their fight, once I have created a proper OPFOR for them, but then they do not fall into the scope of Real World Operations.
