Yazp 10 Posted April 19, 2015 (edited) Hi all, I exported a 3d model from Blender to O2, Except you can only see one particular side of the IFV when you tilt it, I the older sdes become invisible and new ones show up. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? da12thMonkey 1943 Posted April 19, 2015 (edited) Happens sometimes with the .obj import depending on how the coordinates and axes in the 3D program you exported from, are set up. If you notice the position of the driver's hatch, your whole model is actually inverted left-to-right. When you import the 3d model, try clicking the box that says "Invert X" - in my experience this stops it importing flipped like this so that all the vertexes and their normals are in the right position and direction. But if you want to fix it in the model as it stands, clicking \Points\Transfer 2D\Mirror X\ while you have model active in the "Front" viewport will probably work. x3kj 1247 Posted April 19, 2015 Part of your models faces are turned inside out, so the faces face in the opposite direction that they should. It's better to use .fbx import, obj has some issues sometimes. (Note: you need to have logged into steam to see the fbx import option in OB for some reason...) To flip faces manually select them and press W in Objectbuilder.
warlord554 2065 Posted April 19, 2015 Before export, in 3d view, Edit mode, hit N which will bring up a right side menu, under the Mesh Display tab there is a normals selection with the vertice and face icon. Click face icon and it will show any inverted faces (which will result in your problem upon export). Highlight those faces and click Recalculate on left side menu, it should solve those problems but sometimes you need to manually invert. Its much easier to reverse them before export as O2 isnt very fun to do actual work in. Make sure you check faces always before export, as they will also affect your bakes. If that doesn't fix your issue, you probably have a problem with your mesh. You might have an interior face or something of that nature.
wantafanta 13 Posted April 24, 2015 is there some reason why i cant select 4 verticies? i can select the faces but not the verts themselves and i kind of need to (an extrude on a freshly imported FBX file)

I forget the shortcut keys but one of the buttons up top should put you in Vertex selection mode, otherwise you can definitely reach it through the top-bar menu.
