Should heat source behind glasses be detected with FLIR system?

Recommended Posts

In arma2 BIS told us heat behind window can't be detected with FLIR system. But in ARMA3 now heat behind windows can be detected with FLIR system in some cases..

EDIT:

I have tested window of choppers\ planes and find they are normal. I have tested window of cars and find the windows are wrong. For windows of buildings there are two situations:

1. it can block heat of human.--see the pic: windows on buildings1

2. the glasses\goggles behind window can be detected --see the pic:windows on building 2

I think this should be bugs of window on cars and buildings, please fix it.

I have submitted an issue please vote it:

theoretically not possible like see through walls like in Hollywood.

But thermal vision its not perfect but it still serves the purpose.

IR radiation is blocked by the windows.

You also cannot see through walls. You can only see heat being radiated off surfaces where it leaks from the inside.

yes. And you can see thru walls.

no, you can't. IR cameras measure IR radiation. While it's more sensitive, it can pretty much only see what you can feel (for example, glass is cold; you can't feel the heat of things behind it). If the person on the other side of the wall doesn't heat up the wall, there will be no visible change through IR cameras.

only in games lol

you would need some sort of X-ray vision to do that , Thermal vision can't do that - it only shows the IR heat signatures
