This Mod brings you the Royal Norwegian Army for Arma 3. Including normal military in both woodland and desert camouflage. But also specialized forces like sniper teams, FSK (Forsvarets spesialkommando), MJK (Marinejegerkommandoen) in various camouflages. To fight the common Arma 3 'clone soldier' gear randomisation routines give each unit a unique look. And ofcourse there are vehicles, Insignias and much more. While this is not a 100% perfect representation of the norwegian forces, i'm trying my best to bring you the best quality possible - always trying to transport your feedback and whishes in the mod to make it even better. Looks good Vasilyevich. Will test it when i get back from work.

Is it possible to release a version without the weapon pack requirement so they use vanilla weapons?

There is a no sound from the custom weapons after the latest dev branch update.

It's currently not planned. Since it's the "Dev" branch i'm sure they will fix it soon(ish). You can always spawn a weaponscrate and equip with vanilla weapons if you wish to do so :)

As I understood there was some new sound system implemented for weapons with the new bootcamp DLC. So all modders need to update their work when the patch hits stable.

I just imagine it can be a while before all weapon mods are up to scratch.

If this is true, i can imagine some people would get very angry O.o so i will wait if they really want to pull this off.. if they do i will change this mod (ofcourse) but i honestly can't believe it :S Edit: i just checked, massi is still active on the forums. So i think he is aware of eventually upcoming changes and will update his mod accordingly.

BTW: there will be a patch soon to bring an Norwegian AT and Sniper/Marksman - i hope i can figure out how the ghillie works, if i fail to do so it will be a boring Marksman :P

If you want to see more diversity in Vests/Carriers please let me know what Arma3 Vests or Carriers are similar or identical to Norwegian Military ones and i will try to make a proper retexture of them (if possible you could include a Photo so i know the colors) - i'm just saying because i need to work with Google Image search and it's not that great :D >> same for backpacks and helmets.

Update

Be sure to check the "Norwegian Supply Box" under Empty > Ammo > Norwegian Supply Box, it should help by getting the gear you want :) There is also a new Beret and a Bonniehat. And finaly a AT and Marksman - i'm still trying to get the Ghillie working, then i will do a proper Sniper. Oh everything should look slightly "weathered" to make the units look a bit more real, it is a start and i'm working on the textures to make it look even more "real".

I just found out that the Units are not working with ZEUS, they will however work with MCC (Unit Groups are not working in MCC atm, but Garrison, and single units work just fine). I will try to fix this issues ASAP, if someone knows how i can do that please let me know.

PS: I finished implementing Norwegian First and Surenames. So the soldiers will have "immersive" names in singleplayer groups (included in next update).

EDIT: Zeus Issue is resolved, will come in next update.

I'm thinking that LBV harnesses are the closest to that. (Norwegian conscripts usually don't wear protective vests, but deployed forces abroad do.)

By the way #1: Let me know if you need a hand with more names.

By the way #2: The Norwegian army standard sidearm is the Glock 17, designated P-80.

Oh man, thanks for the link.. finaly some good material to look at, i was working with google image search here :D Looks like i can implement the Stooner Caseless LMG and the .50cal for the Sniper (is already in the Norwegian Supply Box - Maybe the LAW Launcher for some units And also ECH helmets \o/

Regarding Non armor harnesses: Since the units in arma are usually fighting you probably want the armor, otherwise you die alot :/ but i will (maybe) do "light" units.

@ BTW1: If you could include classnames or normal names of the gear that is in Arma 3 it would make everything easier, but only if you REALLY want to click here for a list

@ BTW2: Yeah... Wikipedia was missleading me to the USP, it's changed, the glock will return in the next update.

PS: It looks like the norwegians are using some vehicles who look similar to the HEMTT and the Hunter - i have texture templates for both of them so i might implement them, should not be to much work i think O.o

We (the Norwegian Armed Forces) don't use any weapons by Stoner. The LMG on the photograph you linked is an FN Herstal MINIMI-N. The ammunition belt is loaded with 5,56 x 45 mm NATO NM226 red plastic blanks made at Bakelittfabrikken, Aurskogen, Norway.

Otherwise, good job, I've been waiting for Norwegian M98/M03 pattern uniforms for a while. The M98 pattern ones look great combined with G3KA4s on Tsjernarus :)

Thanks for all the feedback guys :) I get alot of inspiration from those images. I hope that i can push an update in the next one or two days, depending on how much i want to get in :) Most of the "Big issues" are fixed, Zeus is working for example - The Glock will be back and so on. The APC above is still slightly WIP and will have an brother in desert camo, and a proper crew of course! :)

The MBT Textures are still slightly WIP. There are some small details on the desert APC who i can't retexture atm. There WILL BE a fix for the Weapon Sounds in the upcoming Bootcamp Patch. So don't worry about that :)

Vasilyevich, your addon has caused a strange bug on CSAT MRAPs(Zil Punisher/Ifrit, whatever you name): the wheels and backdoor vanishes (on armed version, the turret vanishes)! This is a conflict with EvanCat CSAT replacement pack, so one of you guys (or both) messed something at the vehicle config that, when both addons are together, the MRAP is FUBARed... I´ll post about it at EvanCat´s thread too!

I am unable to reproduce the issue, have you ANY other mods running other than NATO SF / RUSSIAN SPEZ Weapons pack, Norwegian Units and the CSAT Replacement pack ? and are you running the dev branch ?

I tested it with the replacement config and without (version 1.3.0).

My mod should not have any code who touches the Ifrit btw :) still strange O.o

You´re right, it is some third party mod... maybe some old, cus it happens with my "full of mods" setup, and when I disable yours or Evan´s mod, the Ifrit is back to "it´s wheels" sort to speak!

Arma is full of surprises, probably is some mod like refined vehicles or another army mod, that when combined with yours and Evan´s make that happen... oh boy!

If I manage to sort out, I´ll let ya know!
