Nort0n 1 Posted June 18, 2014 Hey so I've been told that since gamespy shutdown it has screwed up the multiplayer aspects of Arma 3. When I use my ingame browser I'm seeing a total of like 50 players online, highest population on a single server was 8 people. What is going on??? I've switched between Gamespy and Steam for server source but they both have similar results. Can anyone explain what's going on? Seems to me ArmA3 is dead?? kremator 1065 Posted June 19, 2014 There are literally THOUSANDS of servers. You need to make sure your game is uptodate, and that the correct ports are open. Check other posts on configuring your Arma3.
zooloo75 834 Posted June 19, 2014 Make sure you didn't filter out the keyword "Life".
big_t 1 Posted June 19, 2014 Make sure you didn't filter out the keyword "Life". Lol It's true though. The in-game browser is spotty at best and sometimes downright unresponsive. Please fix. or rely on a third party for even that?...uggg
terox 316 Posted June 22, 2014 Make sure you didn't filter out the keyword "Life". if you want to play the arma engine for what it was truly designed for then DEFINTELy do not filter for life, try coop, that gets rid of the X amount of butcher shop players and french players drinking coffee on the corners of streets:)
henri 10 Posted June 22, 2014 have you tried the steam browser? LOL

The moment I open the server browser, I am spammed with Altis Life and Wasteland. Two horribly unoptimized missions that just won't go away. I remember before DayZ, there were tons of milsim servers, domination, co-op, fun little PvP servers running community missions, etc. That's rare now... In ArmA 2 they had Chernarus Life, at least that was actually enjoyable. It didn't run like crap, and it had plenty of vanilla content and creativity coded into it. It had a cops n' robbers feel that Altis Life will never capture. Oh well, at least I got to experience the true ArmA. TimJ147 10 Posted June 23, 2014 You can use the filter option to make things easier in finding the kind of server you want to play on. I have added favourites to some of the servers that seem to have better hardware running as my frame rates on others are awful.

We need a widely used mod like ACE was for a2, you just had to filter ace and you got the good servers. Right now I tend to play either Patrol ops or invade and annex, unfortunately I&A often runs like a potato and patrol ops can be a little too restrictive. Leg 10 Posted June 25, 2014 No. That was for Arma2OA most likely. Arma3 was already using Steam anyway, whereas Arma2OA had a bunch of stubborn people staying on Gamespy until the last minute. Now that Gamespy is down (theoretically, not even sure if it is yet) they're going to be scrambling and saying things; either moving to Arma3 or desperately scrambling to the easily-available updates and information that makes Arma2 use only Steam for its servers. But no, it's only for Arma2. Arma3 was already adapted for steam.
