Guided missile targeting inaccurate for helos'?...

Since installing Resistance i seem unable to hit 'owt with the 'HellFires' or their Russian equivilant. they always seem to land a lenght or two (of the target) away!. I noticed this started after installing UU#1.30 for OFP as well. but went away after #1.46. it makes the mission nigh on impossible.

Also in the Resistance Helo' mission: 'Rats Nest'. when I try to bracket an enemy helo' no 'Target Bracket' comes up.usualy you get a square, then when target is in range/sight, you get a sort of 'Star of David'. I get none of that no matter what weapon is selected. is this a bug?. even if i aim the crosshairs dead on the target nothing shows...

Anyone else get these things happening?...

I thinks it's some kind of a bad installation.

The rockets are hitting bad, but i get the 'brackets'

What do you mean by 'bad installation'?. do you mean i should try reinstalling?. cause i have!, and it was like this before.

The helo thing is the worst though. I get the target~locked symbol come up sometimes, but the target box(square, not star) never shows!. so if theres a lot of action i don't know which enemy helo I'm targeting to try and get the 'Star' 'target~locked' symbol to come up!!!. and when I do manage to 'lock on' the 30mm~cannon always goes wide!. Arrrgggghhhh! tounge.gif . I love Helo' missions as well!. this one would be good if i could target anything!. and anything i do manage to target got hit!!.

Sorry if it sounds like I'm bitchin, I'm not really. BIS has tweaked OFP up and done a good job on Resistance IMO. it's just the usual teething troubles wink.gif . I'd like to be sure this is a bug or not though, whether more people get this or not. I don't want to forward it to BIS if it's just my Rig, or it goes away after the third re~install!.

You have to target guided missiles a bit. Lock the target and move the chopper so that the "Star" bracket appears and fire, works well for me.

i suppose you are talking about the v-80, the missiles on that go way over on anyones computer unless theres some magical coicidence and you blindly hit the target as they are really bad at tracking, and gun on the v-80 isnt auto it follows the cursor up/down

Unfortunatly it seems both sides helo's were really downgraded for "ballance" sad.gif

I'm pretty damn sure a single Hellfire would take out a T80BV, and a one OR MAYBE two AT6's would cripple an Abrams... or at least disable it.

And even though you hover about 1 kilometer away from your target, the missle, be it the Hellfire or AT-6 will LOOK like its going to hit the target, but when you see the impact crater, the missle landed off by about two meters. And thats pretty much as accurate as shots get ingame, lol. tounge.gif

Any WHY THE HELL do Western choppers engines go out when you go to 50% life? If this is going to happen, they should make the option "engine on" work when your chopper is damaged so that a nimble pilot could keep his chopper from dieing like a moose.

The AT6 and Hellfire need to be stronger!

I wish I knew how to change .cgg... or .cfg.... whatever files ingame. I used to try and do it, but I think a program to decode and then apply my changes.

Hehe... well a Vulcan Cannon can fire 6000 rounds-per-minute... it's only fair smile.gif, and regarding the first post on this thread... if the heli is on the ground you can target it with a guided missle, if its already flying you must shoot it with a cannon.

I know i got to track with it, but the target square never comes up. so if i take a hit and get twisted about I don't know which Helo' I was targeting. and even when i do and the lockon star does come up,(sometimes it does'nt, even when the 'dot' is bang on target), the 30mm~Cannon rounds never hit even though its locked on!.

I'd say out of about two thousand rounds fired while 'on target'(50/50% with and without 'star'wink.gif I've seen about ten Explosion hits on enemy helos. its anoying cause i love Helo' missions the most...

If the target box came up at all I'd put it down to my poor aiming wink.gif , but it never comes up at all, and the 'target~lockon' star is very iratic.

sometimes you can see the tracer shooting off at a 45degree angle away from the crosshair 'dot'. that can't be right!.
