Up Armored HMMWV Modification

Awesome to see Armored Humvees coming to A3. Look forward to the release mate!

One little request from a humble mortal man, can you put a minigun on a special up-armored Humvee? I can't get enough of minigunz! :o

So that is what those boxes are! Ahh very good. Yes then, my deployment variant will have the Armored RPG "boxes" for lack of a better term.

And eh, a minigun.. well hahaha, that would be interesting, but uhhh, I'm not sure how realistic that would be.

Are you by chance doing a version with a M240/M249

Hello:

No, for these M1151 Series I only plan for M2HB, Mk. 19. I think if I do another pack of HMMWV's based more around 2004ish things with first gen APK, and such that I'll do a M240 version. As for M249, I really don't find that is an effective vehicle mounted weapon.. yes you can mount M249 as we do when we don't have enough C6, but it really is not optimal.

As for the thermal cam nets, they are really only to shield the gunner from the heat as a comfort thing. Really I would prefer to have the visibility since this is a game, but.. I think if there is enough interest for realisms sake I could do that.

Also.. I guess I could do an MP variant. Could anyone provide a reference photo? I know in Canada our MILCOTS and G-Wagen are pretty customized with the light bar and things, but I've never seen an MP HMMWV.

So the RPG boxes are part of the FK6 or Frag Kit 6. they are the last update of the HMMWV's. And a minigun variant would be perfect for the SF mission

Hmm, slightly odd error I've encountered. The suspension seems kind of reversed or something. When the left side is completely compressed, the right side is completely uncompressed. Does anyone know what values I need to reverse so both sides compress equally?

WOT? They serve the main purpose of masking the gunners position from sniper fire, so that it is harder for insurgent shitheads to just sit back and pick them off when they are parked.

Alright, I finished the base model, my M1151 M2HB, and finally fixed the last 3 errors, mirrors, Gun Feed, and a proxy error.

Hey RichardsD, I did some basic research and didn´t find any pics of an M1151 with a light bar or something.

I did find some unarmored MP Humvees with lights though: http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/10/27/article-2054005-0E8CAB2E00000578-455_634x286.jpg note the light attached to the roof.

I never saw any emergency lighting on armored humvees, probably because they are intended for combat use. But I once saw a video of a Humvee using a siren to alert traffic.

Secondly, I am working on the M1167 (Up Armor, TOW Carrier), and have a question. Does the shield rotate in a turret ring or is it stationary and you rotate the TOW launcher itself?

Depends on the platform. I've used both, although we get specialized equipment, and freedom of choice in SF

Alright. The four basic variants are completed now, the M1151 (M2), the Mk. 19, the M1152, and the M1167 Tow Carrier. I also plan to release on day 1 with some kind of as requested, GMV with Armor Kit and M134. I also will make "deployment" variants of the M1151 filled with random kit, spare tire, the massive ram guard, antennas, MREs, Jerry cans and so forth, gunners cam net etc. I also will release with Woodland variants of most, but most likely the GMV will remain a Tan vehicle.

As a TOW gunner for 2 years I know that the weapon platform has very limited turning and you have to turn the turn just as you would with a .50, 240, or Mk 19. One thing that would be a really nice feature, but may be a little difficult to add (maybe) is breaking down the back of the turret when firing the TOW. This is done so that the gunner and crew are safe from the back blast of the weapon system.

I could go back and model some kind of system where in it is lowered, I modeled it in the closed position, but that would certainly be much more accurate.
