Sorry, I havent, nor do I personally know of anyone who has. Do a search for .22 Rimfire forums, when you find one, ask around and you will get a response from someone.

Honestly, you should use iron sights when learning to shoot, then upgrade to a scope. I know of a few people who were raised on scopes and can shoot well with them, but cant use iron sights if their lives depended on it. Besides, the scope that is included with that thing looks kind of crappy. Save another $200 for a half-decent scope, like a Bushnell or Leupold.

Just a suggestion....

Edit: P.S. Stick to .22LR. Why? You can buy the stuff anywhere and it's dirt cheap. I could get 400 rounds of regular ammo for about $16.00 CDN.

Ive shot at peoples houses, its very funny if they are outside. One example is when I got on my roof and my old neighbors were doing yardwork about 75 yards away and I would take shots at a basketball backboard in their yard and they would look around confused. Id say shoot at whatever you want with a BB gun just dont get seen and dont shoot a person or animal with the exception of squirrels, lizards etc etc. Its really easy not to get seen especially where I live. Also I dont know what you guys are making a big deal about the guns, the cops where I live atleast if they see you shooting out towards the woods on a dirt road they will just drive past you. Of course never use a gun in your neigborhood or near it or near a city even. Just go find some woods with your dad and go there and you can do whatever you want.

It's stunts like that that cause the rest of us to lose the priviledge of owning any kind of projectile shooting weapon.

But hey, I did the same stupid things when I was younger, but I am way beyond that now.

Lesson of they day: Don't do stupid shit.

Colonel Kurtz's guide to gun safety.

1.Never point you gun at a living thing unless you inteand to really shoot it. This applies wther the gun is loaded or not.

2.Never walk around with a loaded weapon.

3.Never put your finger near the trigger unless you are ready to fire. Get your target in your sights before putting finger on trigger.

4.ALWAYS KEEP THE SAFETY ON UNLESS YOU ARE FIRING.

Always stick to these basic rules and have fun with your gun, but most of all, be safe

my training?

well..not a training but a serious hobby. smile.gif

it's been a full month since i started, and i've been concentrating with .22 Ruger. it's fun AND cheap. once in awhile i go for 9mms but .22 are fun to shoot. and i'm not kidding. wink.gif

i'm still a rookie, so i only get to hit a circle with 1.5 inch diameter from 25feet 50-60% of the time...so i gotta practice more biggrin.gif

Put this one in as #0 then:

ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

It greatly simplifies the rest of the rules...

Tell that to someone with one of these in 7mm Remington Magnum when you are in their crosshairs.  This is a wicked accurate rifle with a really fast round.  Great for sniping smile.gif  Who needs more than one round when one round will do? biggrin.gif

On topic, I'd say go with the 10/22. It's a kick ass little rifle. I've plinked with one a fair bit, and it's lots of fun. Ruger makes a really great quality firearm.

I own a ruger 10/22 LR and it is a fine lil toy. cost waaay under 500 bucks. (170 or 220, if I remember correctly.)

go for the bolt action if you want something to fiddle and play with. I personally like the semi-auto makeup better.

if you want something with a little more zip go for a .22 hornet. wouldn't buy anything w/ bigger cal if you're not into real hunting.

you live in whittier? had friends there. they're in kansas now.

good cleaning kit.

if your house has many guns, gun safes are great way to go i guess.

but a good trigger lock is also good.

smile.gif

edit: if iremember correctly, CA law rules that you should always have a trigger lock when not in use. so a trigger lock is a must.

I'd look for a locking gun cabinet of some sort. I am pretty sure they can be had fairly inexpensively at a local gun shop. You dont need to be Fort Knox, but it's always good to have something with a lock to store your firearms in.

Trigger lock is also a good idea if you are going to show it to any of your friends. Always practice good gun safety. That way you develop good habits and wont have to worry about negligent discharge of a firearm hurting someone.

just print some piture of that bastard and stick it on a paper plate or other thick papers. that would work. however, firing range officer has to see them. they don't want to get in trouble. so ask for their permission.

i tried once with Guba and my range officer recognized it as a soviet military guy, so he was hesitant. i had to convince them he was a villain from a game. biggrin.gif

In California, your parents are responsible for properly storing all firearms and keeping them out of reach of minors, i.e. securely locked in a gun safe or steel cabinet, or rendered inoperable through a locking mechanism.

Failing to do so can result in a felony conviction.

A state-approved trigger lock will satisfy the letter of the law, but wouldn't prevent theft if someone breaks into your home. I keep all my firearms in a professionally-installed safe that is bolted from the inside of the safe to the concrete floor of my home because the last thing I want is to have some criminal scumbag steal my firearms and use them to commit more crimes.
