Strategic ofp interface ce2 now available

Recommended Posts

Hi Friends

For some time our MOD team has been pursuing the goal of a Strategic and Dynamic Operation Flashpoint. We have reached our first milestone and wish to announce the launch of CE2 an interface for strategic management in Operation Flashpoint and our website where you can download missions built with CE2.

The Chain Of Command Website URLs are

http://www.thechainofcommand.net

Forums (for Downloads)

The CE2 is the first true FPS strategy game. It allows you to control Platoons and Companies as well as having in built artilery calls. There are several example missions for download as well as predifined ORBATs for mission designers. There is players manual in Offline HTML format and a full text manual for mission designer if you ever wanted to create or play BIG WAR in Operation Flashpoint your wish has been answered.

Thats is great!

It rocks absolutely, like in officers school hehe ("mechanized infantry?I dont like those boys, sent them in first..." ;-) )

Just one thing that dislike a bit (but not much): The sound in the menu...cant it be changed? (you know this loud "pling-g-g-g....")

grrrrreetz

Hi Ran

Glad you like it pehaps you can use it to make one of your missions. There are several pre-fabricated ORBATs to use so that will ease everyone into it.

Hi [76]Chavez

We are stuck with </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE"> "pling-g-g-g...."<span id='postcolor'> Sound its a result of the OFP Hint menus.

We are building a dialog based interface for CE3 (DCE) but it wont be available for several months as we will be adding lots of other features.

You get used to it and it a small price to pay to play general in a first person shooter.

It is also very useful if you are issueing a string of commands using hotkeys as it tells you when you have done it wrong. Which if you have only minutes to issue them say for BS02 is very assuring.

Amazing work! I was just about to quit playing OFP and sell my CDs, but I think that I will stick around a while longer. This is a really amazing extension and so much more then ofp's squad handling - but in a way it still preserves the basic idea of OFP.

I have played through Battle Schol 1 and am playing 2 now as we speak. Then I'm going to try to make some missions of my own :-)

May I come with a suggestion: Perhaps you could use the new dialogue and GUI functions that come with Resistance. I think your mod could benifit from then.

----Chris

We will have a GUI interface in future versions. The work on that is fully in progress. Here are some screenshots of how it will look (we might change it though):

Very nice! This adds a totally new dimension into OFP. I've always wanted to make company-size encounters between FDF and Russians.

Does anyone know where to get russian ORBATs?

Hi [CCCP]Stalker

When the site gets busy the registrations are held in a queue you should recieve an email when the bot has done.

But I just hand registered a bunch of people I think you were among them you should be able to get in now.

One has to subscribe to ORBAT.com and pay big bucks. Any free resources? Walker, thanks anyway smile.gif

Hi cam0flage

Have a hunt round the site lots of it is free.

Also try the resouces listed in the Battle School pages of The Chain of Command.

In the US Army Field Manuals there are several TOEs and ORBATs there. smile.gif

I have downloaded the CE2. It's cool but in BattleSchool missions there are some bugs. AI don't follow WP's even in Follow WP mode (I have forgotten the exact name)

Hi [CCCP]Stalker

Which Battle School mission is causing the problem?

Have you checked that the waypoint is proceed and not wait till or wait for or cycle or take position?

Are you in hierarchy mode with the unit subordinate to its team /platoon leader? You need to detach it from the formation if so.

These are my first thoughts but I await your reply. smile.gif

Excelent addon!  It makes ofp kind of a strategy game rather then a purely tactical sim. With this script the AWACS becomes a little bit more then just an addon.

Maybe it would be possible to make the MiG-31 witch are used in groups of 4 and have simiar effect(except they actualy intercept air targets) or maybe the A-50 which is the exact counterpart(detcts air targets slightly worse then the E-3 but detects ground and low flying targets better ).

Hi [CCCP]HAZARD

The whole area of Strategic and Dynamic Battle Fields is our goal with artilery and counter battery Radar

A working AWACs is a logical conclusion as is Colnel Klinks base (now it will be able to serve its true pupose) we also want to develop a command / lorry / caravan / IFV / perhaps as the centre of a true battalion ORBAT this is far in the future many many months away but its an engineering problem so it will be solved.

I'm looking forward to the graphic interface ingame. I hope this will make it much more comfortable to use. But anyway, great addition to the game. smile.gif

Hi Uzabit

The Dialog front end is many months away I am afraid don't expect it soon.

Thanks for the support on behalf of all at The Chain of Command
