cthulhu616 3 Posted August 30, 2013 One thing i really miss in arma 3 are unguided rockets. In ArmA 2 we had an acceptable rocket launcher arsenal (RPG-7, RPG-18, AT4, SMAW + different kind of ammo), but the only one here (which I know about and arma3.com says) is the RPG32 well... even if we're in future i think that there will still be unguided rockets aswell (like the rpg)... as i see it, guided missiles are to expensive to replace unguided! Javeline shot costs about 80.000$ while 1 AT4 (M136) shot costs ~ 1.500$ (Not 100% sure about that, just googled it). Siriously BI, I know it's late but this is irrational and sucks! grz PS: I'm afraid all these things are going to be charged DLCs
mistyronin 1181 Posted August 30, 2013 PS: I'm afraid all these things are going to be charged DLCs Until now, BI has only done DLCs to implement other armies or others sides like PMC; but not main content. Don't think they are gonna change now. Turning Arma to something like the Sims where you have to pay for a single piece of furniture or clothing would be really sad and it will kill the game. maturin 12 Posted August 30, 2013 I think a good 60% aren't going to consider ArmA 3 finished until there are RPG-7s and BMP-2s and At-4s floating around anyways. Pester Bohemia to release the ArmA 2 OA MLODs and wait for ACE 3. Because nailing a tank at 300m with an unguided rocket and then watching the cookoff is the only true joy in life. Edit: And even if such things get added in official paid DLCs, you can always get the low res version for free.
Qosmius 10 Posted August 30, 2013 yes, i do miss more variety in missile systems too. i think that all the missiles being guided takes away some fun in the game...i have started to enjoy the rpg 32 alot in the game..nothing is more satisfying than hitting a moving vehicle from 200 meters with that unguided rocket and watch it go up in flames. i hope they do add some counterparts to bluefor and green force too.. the weapon i miss the most from arma 2 is the carl gustav swedish made rocket launcher...also called "smaw" in arma universe i hope that this beast returns to arma 3 because it feels really authentic
teaboy 11 Posted August 30, 2013 Actually prices for the current day guided missiles will be a hell of a lot cheaper in 2035 compare with what they cost today, as newer variants will lower the costs and or when new guided weapon systems carried by infantry come into production that will eventually replace the older weapons like the Javelin. Its just like it is with Cars, for example a brand new BMW will cost you £15,000 yet in 7-8 years time the same model would cost around £6-7,000 brand new - Simply because its no longer a top of the range model. So it is not unrealistic to see unguided rockets/missiles no longer being used on battlefields in the future. Though i too would love to see them, as armies like greece have far lower budgets (especially given there current economic problems that will take then 15-20+ years to recover from) so would make more use of less costly weapon systems. spanishsurfer 58 Posted August 30, 2013 If BIS made a DLC that takes away the future stuff and replaces it with current tech I'll be the first to buy it.
noubernou 77 Posted August 30, 2013 If BIS tried to make a DLC out of basic content like this the community would just release a better looking, working, and performing set of content for free. Actually the community will most likely do that either way.
wallside 1 Posted September 1, 2013 What is about the PCML? Isn't it unguided?
tholozor 18 Posted September 2, 2013 The PCML can be fired in SACLOS or Fire-and-Forget.
progamer 14 Posted September 2, 2013 The PCML should be disposable as well.
Smurf 12 Posted September 2, 2013 Agreed on lack of unguided and disposables ATs. Also, the guided ones can make turns too sharp, can't they?
