rekkless 240 Posted December 18, 2017 Hey guys, unfortunately last week we lost our Windows based A3Sync repo but another member of our group has a 350mb/s upload Linux virtual server. It has FTP setup on it and ready to go. But I have NO IDEA how I could go about setting up a A3Sync Repo on it? Is there a way I can manually make the autoconfig on my PC and upload it to the correct address on the server. or just exactly how would I go about setting up a FTP based A3Sync Repo on a Linux virtual server? For those that know Linux it is Debian 8.
Bamse 223 Posted December 19, 2017 That's the way I do it. Set up the repo on your local computer and point it to a dedicated folder. Dedicated as in NOT your Arma folder, use a folder somewhere else dedicated just for creating your repo files. After the repo is created with the correct addresses (along with the credentials needed to download (I say again: download, not upload) from the server ... unless you allow anonymous) and stuff, select the repo in the repo list and click the wrench/screw driver button. Copy the mods you want in your repo to the new folder, set the build options and build it. Lastly, configure the upload options (host and credentials needed to create folders and files on the ftp) and click Upload. Voila!
joarius 36 Posted January 14, 2018 Hi major_shepard, With native launcher of A3, Arma 3 is launched without problem, but since this afternoon, I can no more launch Arma 3 via Arma3Sync, after having downloaded Java 8 and installed GeForce Experience. :\ Arma3Sync is launched without problem, the mods are recognized, the repositories work good, the different paths indicated by A3S are correct, but when i push on " Star Game ", the window of A3S is reduced (but it doesn't disappear) and nothing happens : Arma3 is not launched. I do know absolutely not if the problem comes from my actual Java's version (Version 8 Misa à jour 151) or from GeForce Experience. Thx for an answer. :)
major_shepard 82 Posted January 15, 2018 Run arma3sync-debug.exe In Launcher options panel, ensure arma 3 executable location is correct. Select menu ->Help -> Preferences -> set At game launch: do nothing Start game from arma3sync and see what it says on the debug console.

major_shepard 82 Posted January 17, 2018 What happens when you double click on arma3.exe/arma3_64.exe ? If it works, try running with arma3 with arma3sync with no addons and options selected from Launcher options panel.
joarius 36 Posted January 17, 2018 Re, This is what happens when i double click directly on arma3.exe or arma3_x64.exe : Precision : i have made confusion between the launcher of Arma 3, which is launched correctly, and the launch of Arm3, which doesn't work via the native steam launcher of Arma 3. So i have the same error via .exe directly than via steam launcher. :\ Conclusion : my Ama3 is completely out...
major_shepard 82 Posted January 17, 2018 Try to verify arma 3 files with Steam, this should solve the issue
joarius 36 Posted January 17, 2018 Re, The verification of the cache didn't solve my problem. But this problem has been resolved by a friend via Teamviewer, and now ArmA 3 works fine again. Thx a lot for your help, and thx for ArmA3Sync, which is a very useful utility. :)
Moon_chilD 200 Posted February 1, 2018 Hey, for a few days I get an error when launching Arma3Sync. It happened out of no where...I can't remember I have done much to Arma3Sync. This is the log that is created: Generated by ArmA3Sync 1.6.92 Feb 1, 2018 6:27:23 PM An unexpected error has occured. Any Idea how to fix it? Its really annoying. It does NOT delete all my Repos but I have to add one to get them all back (basically, when I add one I get all back) however, that one I need to add needs to be configured again. Hope you can help me Many Greetings Moony
major_shepard 82 Posted February 2, 2018 You have a corrupted profile file in /arma3sync/profiles folder. Try replacing arma3sync.jar by this one => ftp://www.sonsofexiled.fr/ArmA3/ArmA3Sync/development/ArmA3Sync.jar
Moon_chilD 200 Posted February 2, 2018 Hey, thanks for your response. I did that but sadly it didn't change anything! (Still get the error on startup)
major_shepard 82 Posted February 3, 2018 Could you zip your arma3sync Profiles folder and send it to me by pm?
major_shepard 82 Posted February 3, 2018 New arma3sync.jar file available ftp://www.sonsofexiled.fr/ArmA3/ArmA3Sync/development/ArmA3Sync.jar This one is able to load your profile but there are data losses. Check the groups content.
Moon_chilD 200 Posted February 4, 2018 You are the real MVP. Thank you a lot. By the way: I don't think I had any (noticeable) data loss!

major_shepard 82 Posted March 16, 2018 I would it's an error from the game itself. Try double clic on arma3.exe/arma3_x64.exe. If it fails check the game files for Steam.
