Ita tornado v1.1 released

Get it here!

It has flares and all kinds of spiffy new features which is... well... spiffy!

In some of the planes you are even able to open the cockpit.

just got it the new flare feature is cool and the open cabin only one thing i found that one with the bomb dispencer underneat. The bomblets got no ammo any one else found that?

the flare is not only very kewl to look at its also very usefull....finally some good defence against those nasty SAMS from DKM smile.gif

I had a little problem, when taking off with the MK82 equipped version, there was no "Gear Up" action.

Otherwise, a really nice addon! I love the flare system, it really works.

its good overall, just like the old version, but some of the new things have very basic mistakes, like the canopy animation, its all in lower case and looks rough and unprofessional compared to the rest of the action menu, or the bomblet bug, that should have been picked up straight away in beta testing, ive also heard that it messes with your bis civilian>plane (havent tested that myself though), i think we'll be seeing version 1.2 in the not so far off future...

I hear you on that evis i tought it was kind of werid not seeing it all starting with caps kind of looks like a rough job on the overall testing on it for the civ plane part just tested it seems ok tough i have 2 planes 1 is like black and crap other is reg confused.gif

what is up with colorchangers email on the hud im sure im not going to be sending emails well flying a million dollar jet around, the whole email thing is messed up and stupid. and why is the hud made up of all these shapes? those squares and stuff on it are for missile lock stuff and that is not needed either. everyone else said the other things that are wrong. but everything else is good

Lol thanks i just noticed that. I wouldent understand why he would put it there out of all places i would put it along side of the cockpit on the outside if at all. This needs to be tested a little more and some things changed i still give it a 4 out of 5. biggrin.gifxmas.gif

I got an email from Colorchanger saying that the bomblet bug was just something that snuck in at the last moment somehow and that it didn't appear in beta-testing. I just hope that he got the AI to use the MW-1. I'm glad at least that he renamed it to the MW-1 instead of the JP-233 which is the name of the British version which looks a lot different then the MW-1 submunitions dispenser.

In the old version I actually was able to get the AI to attack targets with the MW-1, the problem however was that the Tornados flew too low and the bomblets would blow up the tornado even with extremely low dammage settings. That was a shame because the MW-1 strikes looked damn impressive! The problem from what I saw was that the point of aim for the rockets (the MW-1 is essentially a rocket pod in OFP but modified with different objects and ammo speeds) was too high which made the Tornado swoop down extremely low (sometimes just 5 ft off the ground) during the attacks with the sub-munitions.

Hopefully that got fixed so we can have the pleasure of calling in Tornados for close air support using the devestating MW-1 weapons system. Now if only ColourChanger would make a British and German version of it. The British version however would need some modification to the MW-1 model in order to make it into a JP-233.

I agree with Lansen this is a really good add with the features. Even if theres a few bugs i think this plane still rocks. Well done

Hey Lansen, I just noted your Operation Vietnam logo. I know it's off topic, but what's going on with Operation Vietnam. Is it still going on? Would be nice if you all posted some new screen shots, or it will more then likely be a addon pack for OFP2?

OMG!!! wow.gif This plane is the best ever downloaded to OFP!!! Really nice work! This is the first plane, which is easily controllable even at ground! Nice weapons, and really good interrior. The flares are nice, too!

Is it possible to make the wings fold back like the real Tornado can do? Do you plan to make desert camo, too? (I saw a really nice desert camo in a book on an IDS.)

Thanx for this really nice work, and i'm looking forward all of the possible updates for this plane.

Er, one more question. smile.gif Is there a way, to put the planes down on a map with opened cabin doors?

We will update the site and give you plenty of info, screenshots and goodies when the days have reached the D day  xmas.gif

We wont update with anything like new units and screenies now, you will get to know why later. I understand if some people get disappointed and maybe even think we doesnt work on OpV but we do.

Back to topic (Tornado), I believe that the Tornado dives to low when attacking a target. The altitude should be able to be maintained when attacking with bombs etc.

In real life one method of attacking with bombs is to make a slight dive towards the target, drop bombs and then break away. It looks dangerous to get as close as 15 meters from the target as the AI do in OFPr. (I´m no pilot nor a tactic specialist when it comes to aiplanes, just reading books so tell me when Im wrong).

I would like to see the AI make a slight dive from 200m alt to 100m alt, dropping bombs and breaking off, thats if I set the flyinheight to 200... The F15 seems to have even greater problems with this, it seems to fire its AGM 130 missiles when its almost on the ground and almost have flewn by the target.

I dont know much at all about config files, havnt had any time to learn since Im a modeller and got my hands full but is this possible to solve? It should be since you have succeeded in making a missile warning system and automatic flare dispencer.

One more thing, the MW-1 version is not working at me... I mean, it won't fire. (If i try it with the AI it freeze me out.)
