Ahhhh my wonderfull US of A. The nation of litigation, land of the free home of the lawyer.

It's a ridulucous effort to make big business subsidize peoples lack of resposibility for thier own actions. Smokers now must pay a huge amount for cigarettes because of the lawsuits against big tobbaco. 90 Billion dollars if my number is right, was the amount paid to th federal goverment and also to those named in lawsuits. Now, do you really think that big business is going to roll over and play dead? No they're just going to up the price on the next pack. Will the feds be happy, yup, cause they can up the taxes on that pack also and put more money towards suing the tobaco industry. Confussed yet? I am.

This is the rought' that is being taken with the fattys. Sorry to offend anyone but if you sue cause you don't know how to eat properly your just a fatty in my mind. The goverment will get on the wagon, sue everyone silly, the big business will up the prices to compensate for the lose of profit. Fatty will still eat like a moron and just will pay more for what they have a choice of eating.

Lack of personal responsibility is the problem with this country. Everyone wants to blame someone else for thier own stupidity.

Next they'll try to go after my beloved aclohol. Grrrrrrr.

Now after I got that of my chest I am going for a ride in my 600hp gas guzzleing 69 Camaro, buy a pack of smokes, get some McDonalds for lunch and go find a strip club with cheap rail drinks. At least while I still can

And you are 100% right. People have abdicated personal responsibility in the US and basically made a case that nothing is their fault. And it is actually rather noxious. thank god that Canada and other nations have not slipped into the morass of litigation that seems to be so predominant in the US.

You might argue against 'big' government..but Canada has a 'big' government and you dont see any of the nonsense lawsuits here that you see south of the border. And when they do get to court, they are usually tossed out with the polite legalese version of 'Dont be a freaking moron!'

How many other countries have the same percentage of 'nuisance' lawsuits that the US has. The simple fact is that being overly litigious is a rather American trait. How many other nations have 'Judge XXXX' shows on television every day where they take people who have actually filed REAL lawsuits, and settle them on television? And usually they are pretty damn lame.

I am not painting all Americans with this brush, but to me it seems that your culture espouses a 'sue first ask questions later' mentality.

How did I cut the left one open you ask? I just got done trimming my nails with a ACME nail tirmmer, I did'nt see a warning label or instructions telling me that if I trim them in a pointed fashion that my nuts may be dammaged if I scratch to hard. Damn there bleeding good right now, I better call a lawyer, freaking nail clippers, its all there fault!!!

Wait..........I'm getting a little fuzzy from the blood lose, maybe it's my own stupid fault. Better find some duct tape and a bottle of Jack cause I don't want this plastered all over the nightly news.
