tom3kb 15 Posted March 27, 2013 @KK Just finished ETIM, no problems with missions (there are still few small things that you can fix like last task not greened in all mission but it's nothing big). I have problem with outro HVT is not moving, i watched outro few times (i played with @cba,@cba_a2,@cba_oa maybe that is the problem). Can you try outro with @cba_co+betapatch and with 3 @cba folders. Do you have this problem? ---------- Post added at 05:46 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:44 PM ---------- @h34dup You will find this campaign o Armaholic, OA Campaigns download. But campaign was not frontpaged. :( ---------- Post added at 06:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:46 PM ---------- Ok, i look at outro few more times. With Arma 2+PLA, Arma 2+3@Cba folders+pla and arma2+3@cba folders+jsrs+blastcore+pla. All is ok, HVT is walking to heli. It was some strange bug with arma on my side wenn i play this campaign few hours ago. Now all is ok. :)
Kommiekat 11 Posted March 27, 2013 You will find this campaign o Armaholic, OA Campaigns download. But campaign was not frontpaged. :( I'll see about that Green being ticked off at end of missions. In regards to my mission not being on Front Page, I suppose the boys have been busy with the A3 MP missions and Addons. I'll ask Mr. Big about it. Thanks for your input Tom, I hope it was an enjoyable and playable campaign  ---------- Post added at 03:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:44 AM ---------- I don't see it on Armaholic, is it still pending?Congrats on the release indeed, you've been on fire, and I'm sure you've been learning a lot in the process! h34dup 148 Posted March 27, 2013 Yeah, I suppose it's entirely up to the mods on Armaholic whether something gets frontpaged or not. I am absolutely a supporter of Foxhound and his staff and their approach to running their website, but I feel like not front-paging this Camp (for whatever reason, especially if it's because there's an overload of A3 releases which in my opinion appear to have less effort involved in their creation) represents something of a blow to us OA/A2 devotees who are not interested in playing around in A3's sci-fi future land where every military in the known world wears the same exact tacticool gear with different camo patterns. I see what happened here and question if it's worth continuing to work on my Chris Kyle mission-- what's the point in putting in all that effort if my main source of exposure goes away, along with over half of the people who would have played it. Again, not a shot at Fox and Co., I've read about how inundated they've been with new releases, but I think this new policy should be reconsidered if it is in-fact the new policy. tom3kb 15 Posted March 27, 2013 Foxhound write few weeks ago that if we want to see our work frontpaged we must add all needed info for example: game version, needed addons, prabobly also features, maybe other things like changelog etc i dont remember. If someone only send short info "Hi i released new mission here is link" ;) They will add mission to site but not on front page. Guys from Armaholic have alot of work now. ---------- Post added at 08:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:18 PM ---------- @Kommiekat Yes, i like this campaign, good work. Nice that you add 1 mission where we are not teamleader. There are not to many missions like this for A2. Ps: in 1st mission you put many objects on map. But i dont have any lag :) even on my old pc from 2008. Thanks for your work, im always happy wenn i see campaign/mission where we not play as US soldier (it's nice change, something different). Couldn't agree with you more. I downloaded ARMA 3 played it for about 20 min and decided that it is only an alpha and not worth my time until the full version comes out. I would rather play missions that have some relevance on the real world. Keep up the good work and please don't stop doing what you're doing!

spotter001 82 Posted March 28, 2013 same here, i had a taste of a3 and i like some things. though it's getting ridicoulous how similar gears are so i'll just stick to a2 until a3 gets completed.
Kommiekat 11 Posted March 28, 2013 same here, i had a taste of a3 and i like some things. though it's getting ridicoulous how similar gears are so i'll just stick to a2 until a3 gets completed. I was thinking the same thing. I've just started to make an SP mission in A3 using @CIA and @NorthKorea, but I think I may hold off and wait for Beta or better.....it just seems too empty now and not enough toys to play with. A2 still has so much life in it, even after A3 "officially" kicks off.

My thing with the Alpha scenario releases is that you can only imagine so many takes on a battle for Hagia Marina. Even Utes had more to offer. Why someone's casual first shot in the Editor ever should be given precedent over an established editor's hard work simply because it's not the newest hottest thing is questionable. Again, I read Armaholic's explanation, and as tom3kb points out, they have gotten tougher on incomplete submissions, so hopefully it's not going to happen to all A2/OA scenario releases. SEE MY EDIT>> Also, it is not running very well at all even with "Low" settings, yet I can run A2 with custom settings considered "Very High" - different games and engines, I know, but I can run Skyrim with 100+ mods and get more out of my hardware. I hope they can optimize the performance before October. EDIT: Looks like they went and frontpaged it after all, perhaps they were just too inundated with other submissions, makes perfect sense if so... this is why I love Armaholic, even if I feel the urge to vent. tryteyker 28 Posted March 28, 2013 h34dup why do you always take my words out of my mouth like that. (except the Armaholic bits really) :P Honestly it's good to see people still bringing content for ArmA2. ArmA3 is fine but it doesn't offer alot content-wise. Glad you made this campaign Kommie, gonna check it out over the next few days.
h34dup 148 Posted March 30, 2013 A few suggestions and impressions: OVERALL ~ A highly enjoyable playing experience that does a great job of showcasing not only the excellent PLA mod, but successfully gives a taste of the real-world op through both the gameplay and the info cited in the briefing. ~ Intro is a bit confusing, it's not broken, but I am seeing a completely different intro-- like an example of one of the ETIM's attacks, would really set the stage, especially given how much emphasis is given to the group and their name (in the titles, etc.). ~ My player char is my player profile (a white dude), I'd suggest establishing an asian identity for him. ~ You should turn have show script errors turned on via your mod manager/launcher, I'm seeing a few random easy script fixes, missing semicolons, undefined variables. ~ Use of news sources is awesome, really sets the stage and ties the mission to the real story behind it. M1 ~ Really love the detail of the airbase, the alarms, planes flying and landing, people working on APCs, "secret" weapons selection (consider adding weapons selection to the briefing) ~ The level of detail in Zargabad is similarly really nice, I was wondering if I'd have trouble picturing Zarg as a Chinese city, but details like this really help! I did notice a slight performance hit though with so much going on. Though it may just be my computer. ~ The tasks in Mission 1 are enjoyable, even if they aren't all about killing... looks like you took some inspiration from 100 days, the setup translates well. ~ When you detain the lead protester it's fine, escorting he stands still while I walk (but he still moves with me, I'm assuming this is a script issue, not an editor's issue), and when he is put onboard the extract chopper, I get a hint saying Objective Accomplished and a title text saying Mission Accomplished (tho I still have one obj left). Get rid of the Mission Accomplished title I'd say. ~ The end of mission 1 is a nice twist... I didn't see it coming! ~ The food stalls mission objective doesn't get completed as shown in the debrief screen. ~ Didn't test, but could the player hit the food stalls obj first? If so, is this OK? Seems like it was supposed to be the last objective, which is the way I played-through. M2 ~ You should have the helicopter in-flight in the beginning of M2, rather than taking off on uneven ground. ~ I noticed you can see the player's breath, if it's cold out, perhaps some snow would add to the cold feeling, movie night module also helps with a cool color palette. ~ Most of my men decided they'd rather go rock climbing at the top of the hill in M2 and would not return to formation, they just kept trying to scale a impossibly steep hill, falling back down, going prone, wierd behaviour... not sure what the issue is here. They did manage to take out the APC somehow, but then an enemy TL came walking over and they just hung out together, no one seemed to want to engage the enemy. ~ Only 2 would obey my orders, but even he was quick to lag behind. Somehow, though he kept following way behind taking out enemies I snuck past. ~ I reached the compound alone, it was pretty thrilling to know I was the only man in my 8-man squad about to take these guys out. I snuck my way in and picked off the hostiles one by one. M3 ~ I like the use of the town construction module in M3. ~ Perhaps my own imagination painted a different picture than what you intended, but it might be cool if there was armor and CAS on the field along with the player's squad. ~ Might be cool to insert via chopper, just a thought. Kommiekat 11 Posted March 31, 2013 (edited) Thanks for your info!. I'll look into those suggestions and also the script thing. Actually, I always leave Script Error on and noticed some of those errors. They seem to be the other scripts I'm using. I may have to go back in and clean up "their" mess. Intro was just a seperate team, flying off to do some other mission. (perhaps M1? :p) In M1, was just an intro, showing that China does have it's fair share of "terrorist" activities. The HVT being escorted and not moving while being escorted was a bit odd indeed but not much I can do about that script. I figured it "looked" more realistic with player actually escorting the HVT and not just "JoinSilent" where they run around usually behind the player. JoinSilent is good for hostages. I thought it was a cool script and it was my way of introducing it to others. I makes setting up those things:arrest, detain, escort and loading into heli all in one nice neat package. Therefore, a mission maker does not have to set up and script each and every part, which is usually the case. So, yes, I cheated. Saved myself hours I suppose. I really really wanted Player Identity set up in Description, but just could not do it. Those boys at VME LOCKED in those VME units. You cannot change anything, unless I'm doing something wrong. And how would I change the voice? I just have no idea about that. Weapons loadout. I wanted player to use what is selected by the mission maker. Sometimes players are too spoiled..... M2. I was simulating Insertion without actually doing. I figured player has done it hundreds of times and gets the idea by now...but I see what you mean. Sometimes I get lazy. Will consider the Movie Night script. I wanted to make it look like a chilly crisp cold mountain night without the snow. So sorry about the squad not following you and being so stubborn. Could be a VME thing. Will have to look into it. M3. Thought about Armor and CAS, but I thought maybe it would have been too overpowering. Problem its, VME_PLA has a bug with their AT units. Some terrible terrible graphic glitch shows up, so therefore, I can't use them, otherwise I would have. I have to know my limits of what a MOD can and cannot do and work around that. You remember the Plane landing in M1? Well, it was supposed to go all the way around the airfield then take off again, land again, take off, land...over and over, but it didn't because of the objects set near the runway, so I had to build around that by simulating an emergency landing. That's why there were Sirens going off. Actually, as regards to 100 Days, as great of a campaign as it is, I had started this before I knew it was out, so the set up was all my inspiration. I really really appreciate this kind of feedback and I only wish others would do it more often, that way, I can get back in the mission and fix things and improve it. Thanks, H34dUp!;) Edited March 31, 2013 by Kommiekat
