CUDA Setting solves a few CTDs and improves Performance

Recommended Posts

Hi there Folks,

i just wanted to discuss a thing i tried on my CTD hunt. I noticed some of my CTD end up with a error message mentioning the physX.dll, so i went to the nvidia control panel and set the CUDA Setting for arma3.exe on no GPU (see file below):

With that Setting i didnt get any CTDs related to physX.dll anymore and my game performance improved quite a bit (not counting frames here).

My Box looks like the following:

win7 prof. 64b

intel 2600k @3,8GHz

16GB DDR RAM

Asus ENGTX 560ti 448 DCII 1,28GB GDDR5 VRAM (latest Nvidia Beta Driver).

Asus Maximus IV Mainboard

Revodrive 1 120GB SSD

Friendly Greating from Germany,

alroar

so what happens when you get this error and you are running an ATI card???

The 560ti and the fact that he is running Nvidia drivers would hint ever so slightly to a resounding no.

He is asking what to do if you got a ATI card and also get this physX.dll CTD.

I had that, turned out it was bad RAM. Try a memtest it's simple and quick.
