simjedi 10 Posted March 5, 2013 Arma is just different. You need to say goodbye to the run&gun mentality that makes you successfull in other shooters. This. ArmA is it's own unique game. Every once on awhile some hot shot sponsored COD player will come here and try to make suggestions to making the game to fit their sponsorship and they promptly get ran off....
Ivorystate 23 Posted March 5, 2013 The more difficult the better, I say. It should never be easy.
BlackDragon 10 Posted March 5, 2013 yea the learning curve may be a lil tough at first but once you get it you got it!
Stormers530 10 Posted March 5, 2013 As most people have said before me, it isn't a hard game that require boatloads of skill, but its definitely got a different feel than basically every other first person shooter game, because after all, it is a simulator! Although I think you will enjoy it! After a while you will get use to it and then the fun really kicks in, oh and the editor is great fun! Once you figure it out of course ;) This is not an immensely hard game though, you will be okay! :) Cheers!
metalcraze 290 Posted March 5, 2013 What I'm interested in is why some people including the OP say "I don't want it to be challenging, I want it to be fun" Why are the two mutually exclusive? It's as if I suffered through those many hundreds of hours I've played the game like a masochist :)

The number of noob threads popping up on here related to Arma3 being released is absolutely terrifying from a MP standpoint.

gunny1979 3 Posted March 5, 2013 IMO the top difficulty level is challenging to say the least, of which I feel is a bonus. I mean, we all like a challenge right? It wouldn't be too great if even the top difficulty was a p.o.p.

ArmA will be a game for you! And you will have a great time! :) But if not, there's other games that aren't quite that challenging, and more arcade like. metalcraze 290 Posted March 5, 2013 I actually don't like a challenge :p I would recommend you to rethink your purchase then. This is not edginess or anything, you may just waste your money here and won't be happy with what you'll get. While there may be some servers running some kind of "instant gratification"-designed missions I doubt you will have it easy even on them (and they won't be a majority). Even hitting things well in ArmA with a rifle takes a lot of practice. This is not hitscan like most other shooters. It's very much a game of patience and eagle eye-ness because your enemies often will be the size of a pixel.
