Sancez 10 Posted February 19, 2013 (edited) Im so annoyed u wouldnt believe. I get this "lag spike" every 6-7 seconds on multiplayer servers -some servers not all. Now i tryed - Deffraging drives, reinstalling Arma, changing options in NVIDIA cp, turning of HyperThreading, setting maxthreads, maxmem etc. Game is running fine in SP and some MP server - some (my favorite dammit is spike lagging) in between of lag spikes everythin is fine - no problems than this "stop" of couple of milliseconds occurs that gets on my nerves. There is nothing wrong with my connection since all other games run fine. CPU and GPU are not overheating. All my drivers are up to date etc. I tried everything i could think off .... no solution. This server i like to play on sometimes runs great... sometimes with this darn problem - ANYONE PLEASE HEEEELP. ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 2/19/2013, 12:12:38 Machine name: COMPUTER Operating System: Windows 8 Pro 64-bit (6.2, Build 9200) (9200.win8_gdr.121119-1606) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: System manufacturer System Model: System Product Name BIOS: BIOS Date: 07/27/12 17:37:03 Ver: 08.06 Processor: Intel® Core i3-2125 CPU @ 3.30GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.3GHz Memory: 8192MB RAM Available OS Memory: 8140MB RAM Page File: 1977MB used, 9361MB available Windows Dir: C:\Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 11 DX Setup Parameters: Not found User DPI Setting: Using System DPI System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent) DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled DxDiag Version: 6.02.9200.16384 64bit Unicode ------------ DxDiag Notes ------------ Display Tab 1: No problems found. -=seany=- 5 Posted February 19, 2013 Hi Sancez, welcome to Arma. When did it start happening? Is it really only a few seconds between spikes? not a 2-3 minutes? Are the Mp severs where it works non Battle eye? Could you list them here so I can test please? Do you see ever see a "yellow chain" briefly after the Spike has passed? I ask all this as I am having a similar prob for about 2 weeks now and I have no idea what it is, other than maybe Battle eye. PS for ease of reading your post, you can use "spoiler" tags to hide all that system info.
das attorney 858 Posted February 19, 2013 (edited) I had a problem like this a while ago on a specific DayZ server. Everything else was fine (SP & other MP servers). Server's ok now, and it turns out there was an issue at their end. What mission are you playing on this server? Have you talked to other users on the server to see if they are getting the same thing? Its like 7-10 seconds in between and i get like this micro lag spike that rams my fps down to zip otherwise its like between 40-60 FPS- Battle eye is active on this server its UrbanLife server (takistan life - team missions) I dont get any yellow chains indicating poor ping or anything..... its like periodic stop of the game... so annoying.. - Map in question is Takistan. PS : Thanks for the welcome :)

Jon_CB 1 Posted May 1, 2013 Im getting same problem in each server since last week and dont know what to do. Do u have any sollution?
RobDeBob 10 Posted May 3, 2013 I have had this problem for a while. After extensive testing, reinstalling of the game+drivers, adjusting of settings, etc. I believe it is related to BattlEye. However, updating/replacing BattlEye files does not solve this. My problem is as follows: in singleplayer, performance is flawless. In multiplayer, performance is initially perfect, then quickly declines (within 1-2 minutes) to the point where it stutters every second or so, rendering the game unplayable. I found a thread earlier that seemed to indicate that antivirus software can interfere with BattlEye and produce this issue. This is one thing I have not yet tested, but I'll try it now and post results. ---------- Post added at 11:33 ---------- Previous post was at 11:17 ---------- Okay, so disabling AVG did nothing. Seriously stumped here... I'm stuck playing on non-BE servers until I can get this fixed.

I found the problem. Windows Firewall was conflicting with BattlEye. It is likely that any other firewall would do the same, but since Windows Firewall is built into Windows 7 it is likely that many people are suffering from this issue due to WF in particular. I have not yet tried to create an exception in WF, but disabling it did fix the stuttering.

I have not yet tried to create an exception in WF, but disabling it did fix the stuttering. I don't think that fixed anything. I'm sure you were just lucky when testing on a server (most likely BE didn't work properly on there). Anyway, I suppose you guys still have this problem with BE Client v1.194? -=seany=- 5 Posted May 4, 2013 I had this problem (well, similar anyway) for a long time (3-4 months with the rare period of it working for a bit), but over the past 2 weeks (before 1.194) I have not seen it occur. The symptoms of the other posters here are similar, but I guess we may be having slightly different problems? Any idea if some thing else was changed prior to 1.194 that might have fixed my problem $able? Updated the Dev heaven ticket https://dev-heaven.net/issues/70609 Thanks

I'm sure you were just lucky when testing on a server (most likely BE didn't work properly on there).Anyway, I suppose you guys still have this problem with BE Client v1.194? Yeah, you're right... the server was advertised as using BE, but upon further inspection BE was not actually working properly on it. Yes, I and many others have been suffering from this issue. I actually just bought Arma 2 vanilla (originally only had Arma 2 AO) in desperation on the offchance that it might fix the problem. Now I have two unplayable games; I can't even play Domination on vanilla Arma 2. :( Please find a solution to this, I've done virtually everything and the game is still unplayable. RobDeBob 10 Posted May 13, 2013 Okay, I finally, officially solved this problem by doing the following: - in command prompt, type sc delete BEService - uninstall/delete any instance of BattlEye in Programs and Features in Control Panel, and delete BE from Arma 2 + Arma 2 OA folders - download and install BEclient.dll and BEserver.dll into the appropriate folders (BattlEye in Arma 2 root folder, Expansion\BattlEye in Arma 2 OA root folder) I believe the first step is what solved the problem, but trying the other things I did can't hurt. I no longer encounter stutter on any BattlEye-enabled server.
