[aps]gnat 28 Posted January 13, 2013 hello and welcome to my ARMA 2 hell.*Videos * .... *Threat* ... im' close just giving up and tell other friends that were interested not to bother. WTF !! So let me get this straight ..... you have a little tree/bush lod issue and you're about to shit-can the whole game and tell all your friends its crap ...... Awesome. First off : Search the forums, many answers and suggestions are already there. Second : You provided no information on what version of the game your running ........... !! chrisb 196 Posted January 13, 2013 I think it’s your gtx650 that’s not helping you here. I get this type of thing occasionally, much more so when recording vids, eats away at my system performance, so everything suffers.. I can see it’s a problem, but not a game breaker, well wouldn’t be for me anyway.:).
lord_jonny 1 Posted January 13, 2013 ok maybe im over reacting but it's annoying to have your attention constantly grabbed by a tree. i guess i will try again , then choose.
kklownboy 43 Posted January 13, 2013 the crap settings you run with will make it look like crap and do that crap LOD crap. You can change in game settings to fix most of the crap, and your Nv 3D control panel will need some love too. What game are you playing? A2 free? A2? A2+OA, and then what build #. 1024/768 rez, is for a small CRT or a small LCD? The game will always look better with bigger badder hardware (your vid card is... not that). lord_jonny 1 Posted January 13, 2013 (edited) i know that the game looks bad, i did say i put it on low for the sake of testing. I'm not complaining about the quality and i know my GFX is budget ( it's the best i could do with my current finical situation and it's a good Over clocker), also note that thats not the full ttle of the GFC card; MSI GeForce GTX 650 oc power edition. (link to full spec page: http://uk.msi.com/product/vga/N650-PE-1GD5-OC.html#?div=Specification ) the game plays fine on high settings just this annoying problem. My nvidia control center is set to how the sticky topic said. My screen is a small LCD, as again it's what i had and i cant spend money on it ATM, i fail to see how the screen is causing the problem ?. i have the combined arms pack as i was planning on trying the "dayz" mod, it's updated to latest version via steam. chrisb 196 Posted January 13, 2013 'Objects Details' setting tends to be one that people turn down a little as it gives a good fps boost, however you really need it on ‘High’ or ‘Very High’ to help with this a little. Try these settings and see if they help.. They may also give you a fps boost, if nothing else.:). Not sure with your screen res, I play in 1920x1080, I use 16:10 however and not 16:9 widescreen, works better for me. Still for this try-out above: set your ‘Interface Res’ and ‘3D Res’ to what you normally have. I have tested the settings I have 'Setup' above and they do give me a big performance boost. I think that is down to the fact that it zooms in the screen and squeezes it somewhat (as in the screenshot), its a bit different, but still quite playable, may or may not help, who knows..;)
vuur150 1 Posted January 13, 2013 My educated guess is that you should turn all settings to high, seeig as you set it on very low for the demonstration Other than that i think you should be ashamed for making it sound like the worst game ever because some bush isn't eye candy. I've olayed and enjoyed on 5 fps and even with my new pc i have plenty of problems, such as having no speed meter, ammo counter or altitude meter, but i do not recommend people to look away from this game just cause. Richards.D 761 Posted January 14, 2013 I have a GTX 670 and I used to have this issue. I believe this occurs when you change your video memory to a setting above low, Default, High ETC. I had mine changed to high, and had the issue. When I went back to Default the issue discontinued.
max power 21 Posted January 14, 2013 My educated guess is that you should turn all settings to high, seeig as you set it on very low for the demonstration The LODs and mipmaps the game chooses is partially controlled by the FPS of the program. Overtaxing your system with higher graphics settings than it can handle is a good way to seeing lod popping all around.
