Yeah, but you wont ever find a spot where there is land that you can see but cant walk on.

And OFP still has the largest continuous areas available for gameplay.

What I love about this game is that you really CAN use the whole island. In the RTS multiplayer maps, you can hide your base in a town, or pick some funky rocky area to go..it's really open ended.

If you are playing CQB, then a GR sized map really isnt that bad...but it generally doesnt lend itself to the type of tactics that you can pull in OFP.

I played AA a bit last night before bed...and the engine is really nice...but the gameplay is sorta...bleah.

About climbing, you have to point your mouse up, tell you look at the sky.

I also got that game running on my Geforce 2 Ultra 64MB etc...And it runs great!I have all the settings maxed out to!Im playing at 1600x1200.

first you have to turn around and then hit the walk back key, "S".Then he'll climb down.Just like in real life. smile.gif

Man i loved that game!Really relistic gernades, M16A2, M203, M249 SAW, etc.Plus MILES gear.Plus more!Its really worth it. smile.gif

I dont use it, cause i have cable internet, but its mostly for the 56k'ers.And i used it once when i had AOL.It worked pretty good.But when i got me cable internet, i need no worry so i got rid of it. smile.gif

Hmmm. I'm connected by 256k DSL through our company LAN. We have our own dedicated server now (yay no more floating IP addresses). I've never had a download shit out on me here. This was a first. sad.gif

No offence Kegetys but did you really give AA a chance? In lots of ways AA is even more realistic than OFP! Calling it "arcade" is not fair.

It will not replace OFP for me either since it can't simulate combined arms and great outdoor environments but it will be a nice complement until the OFP engine can do better CQB's etc., thinking OFP II here wink.gif

The training is very well done, the sound is excellent and the 3D-models with animations makes OPF's weapons look very dated! To be honest I'm a bit surprised of the quality of this free game. I have only played limited multiplayer but it seems to work as it should even if they (currently) use the crappy GameSpy to find games. Guess since AA is based on the UT engine the multiplayer code is good or even very good also in this early release.

Actually I think OFP: Resistance have a potential rival in AA so BIS/CM better hurry up and fix whatever problems still exists in the new socket netcode and get it top-notch!

why cant I get resolution more than 800*600, it wount let me pick anything higher sad.gif Except that this game is really great in cqb, better than Ghost Recon or rogue spear, but as whole game I prefere ofp, but now I got 2 games to play instead of 1 biggrin.gif

Okay, the one thing that *really* turns me off about this game is damage modeling. You would think this game would be of the 1-2 shot youre dead variety, but no, the damage is almost CS-ish, but not quite. Even when using the MILES gear, you get hit several (and I mean several) times before you have to sit down. IRL, if you beep just once, you gotta pull yer envelope and see what wound you got. It truly pisses you off, especially combined with the jumpers and the difficult aiming system. It is really dissapointing when this kind of damage modeling is used in a game thats 'realism' has been so heavily hyped. My tip: if you wanna pretend youre in the army, go get a paintball gun and practice MOUT in yer neighbors backyard against some unsuspecting cats smile.gif

After trying this game I must say so far looks and feels great. Even thoug it has some bugs in the first training courses.

Its will be a great game better than many games I have played. It weapons and physics realism puts SOF2 to shame. Still Ill like more reality (blood, playing as an Terrorist, more wepons to choose, vehicles a la Operation Flashpoint, etc.).

Two things really sucks about AA.

One: Only support for gayspy. Gaypy is the worst piece of spyware you can install in your machine.

Two: Terrible planning. All servers are almost full. Including the servers running the MOUT map (a map you need to pass to play online). So you get to wait several hours just to play that mission and once you get to pass it. You don't advance cause the server can't transmit the info top their master server cause it is overwelmed.

Army should have though that a free game based with great physics would attrack more guys than a Britney Spears nude concert .

Another dumb thing was the absence of dedicated server software so you could have some lan parties or internet gamming in other servers besides Homelan.

Also they have talked about vehicles and other weapons but I really doub it willl be as diverse as OFP weapons and vehicles selection.

Lets hope they solved their problems...still I recomend all my friend to play this game..if you have the hardware to run it (900MHZ, GEFORCE2 with 32MB minimum).

I only hope Bis realize the importance of improving OFP grafics a lot......and fixing the pyshics gliches it has with some vehicles..but still OFP as a military sim game beats AA.

I have been playing some more AA.. think I have tried most of the maps now and like I said before this game really feels like GR/Infiltration but in my opinion a bit better than both of them.

Does anyone here have a clue about how large outdoor maps this new unreal engine will support?? …because I hear people taking about adding vehicle but I really cant see a point in that with maps of this “small†size confused.gif

I've just played AA in a friends house (couldn't play in my computer because of my shitty TNT2), and i find Infiltration better. The only things i liked better of AA were the graphics and being thrown in prision when i shoot the instructor
