Cutler 1 Posted November 18, 2012 HW: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+ 3.00 GHz ATi Radeon HD 3800 series 8 GB RAM --------------------------------------- It really doesnt matter if I choose very low details or very high, fps are still very low, about 8-15. + Once a minute (almost accurately) there is a fps drop to 1-4, but it lasts only for about 4 seconds. Could someone help me ?
[frl]myke 15 Posted November 18, 2012 It really doesnt matter if I choose very low details or very high... I think you do know that very high settings are out of discussion for your system. Your system is deliberately outdated and probably every piece of your hardware is bottlenecking. However, the only things you may try: - make sure your game is patched to the latest actual version. Beta patches may help increasing FPS. - make sure all your hardware drivers are up to date - make sure DirectX 9.0c is also up to date - close all unnecessary programs - make sure you have all settings set to lowest and then raise one setting one notch up and see if FPS drop drastically. Use this method to find the highest possible settings.

The HD3870 I had before could not keep up. I would say swap your FX card and all will run well as it's not your CPU.
chrisb 196 Posted November 18, 2012 Might stand a chance if you had a better card, if that’s pos for you to upgrade. Beagles right, there again he should know if he has similar, change the card and you may be set to go..;)
kklownboy 43 Posted November 18, 2012 There seems to be a debate here on "VH" settings. But as said a newer vidcard card would help alot. I also have a AMD64x2 with a 4890, and i would say its marginal at best to play this game. I usually run that box at the 1280/1024. Tho 1400/900 seemed to be okish. Aslong as your PCI-E is 1.1,or above (not 1.0. 1.0a) you can get almost any new card.
domokun 515 Posted November 18, 2012 View Distance, Anti-Aliasing as well as AToC are the main killers of frame-rate. Maybe these tweaks can help you claw a few frames here and there. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?85124-ArmA2-OA-%28low%29-performance-issues&p=2081466#post2081466 Let us know how you get on.
