Overthrow your government

Recommended Posts

If you could take over the country you are currently living in would you do it? and if so what kind of changes would you make? (the more evil the better)

In Canada I would eliminate political correctness, along with alot of other things.

If my country became an oppressive socialist police state, as it is often portrayed as in the future, then I would.

But I would definately, right now, over throw YOUR government.

Never? Even when the government makes it a crime to say anything remotely antiamerican, or the police can monitor you in your house no matter what, or they freely walk around bashing skulls, or people are dragged off in the night without a trace?

You would never even think about it?

Thats scary.

Sorry dude, can't even talk about it theoretically. Did you know that it can also affect your ability to purchase firearms? Careful what you say. Big brother is watching.

Now are you just being ignorant or would you have said that about any nation other than your own?

Yeah..our government isnt the best...but at least here I can see a doctor when I need to and not be in debt for the rest of my life if I get really sick. I can send my son to school and he can learn in public school what I would have to send him to an expensive private school in the US to get. I can walk the streets at night because it's safe to do so.

If you were being a wiseass, well...I'm sorry. But just remember this: Not everyone wants to be an American wink.gif

First thing I would do is administer a series of fairly easy intelligence tests. Starting with something like. "I'll give you three words: fox, hunter, field. Make a sentence." If you can't, you're snipped. You don't deserve to breed. With this I would easily eliminate 90% of the illegal imigrants in the US (don't speak English) along with, I am sure, a healthy portion of the general illiterate public (yes our schools, especially here in Las Vegas, ARE that bad. Bad being defined as NOT good!wink.gif

If you are on welfare due to having too many kids, you're snipped - again, you don't deserve to breed.

Agree on political correctness. Gone. But then again, I would be more of a 'Representative Dictator' than an elected figure head. Don't like - leave or DIE!

Our Judical system would be completely re-vamped. If you are convicted of a Capital Crime, you are taken out back of the courthouse and 'desposed of' in a manner that the victims deem appropriate. There will be no such thing as 'criminals rights', it would be based upon 'victims rights'. The systematic elimination of all convicted captital crime offenders would remove the burden of over crowded jails and save the tax payers billions over my reign. biggrin.gif

I would militarize our borders (no offense to our wonderful brothers to the north, eh. biggrin.gif), the days of the 'melting-pot of the world' are, sadly, over.

I would set my priororities as:

1- Protect the law abiding citizens of the US and it's territories from all enemies, foriegn and domestic. Accomplished by; eliminated criminals, militarizing the borders, weeding out the 'socially irresponsible' biggrin.gif.

2- Make all people personally responsible for their own actions. Accomplished by; re-vamped justice system, a more scientific approach to psychology and psychiatry. (My mommy didn't get me a Rubiks Cube, so that is why I killed my wife. C'mon.)

3- Release the ties that our country is using to prevent the Israelis from kicking ass and taking names...( let the arab hater bashing begin.. Been there, should've finished it in '91 ) wow.gif

4- Make it be known to the rest of the world we are the 'BIG DOG', if you mess with us, you'll get bitten. Then back it up. Goes along with removing political correctness if you think about it. (We have a real problem with this one.)

And finally, wow.gif

I would over through the Canadian government, also...

Well, considering the number of grammatical and spelling mistakes in your posts, you would be one of the first victims of your own regime.

I wouldnt, atleast not without the hitler-factor, we are a democracy political changes should be made at the ballot and not at gun point.

"I wouldnt, atleast not without the hitler-factor, we are a democracy political changes should be made at the ballot and not at gun point."

Then you wont see changes for a very long time. The politicians do not want change, because the system is to profitable for them (on a personal level). In the end, the only ones that can make a change are the politicians, and they do not want to.

I say we go the Heinlein way and let the military take control. Discipline and order is preferable to anarchy and hipocracy.

Well like it or not those politicians who refuse to change were elected by the people. Ive seen many protestparties here in the netherlands come and go and none ever got enough votes (except LPF but they are more about populisme then politics and are having one crisis after the other), the people chose to keep on voting for the politicians that "refuse to change", so what ever you may feel about them it is the democratic will of a majority of the electorate and you will have to respect that. Just because elections didnt go your way isnt an excuse to destroy a democracy and impose your will on millions who dont agree with you. Good qoute in this matter: Dont like it? LEAVE! (cant remember who said it, IRCop related but cant remember who sad.gif (must be getting old)

Well, in Sweden we elect parties and not people...

No, I wont. Not as long as the majority doesn't even bother to do some research before they vote. Most voters vote based on habit. "My family has always voted for party X...thats why I vote for them". As long as people reason like that the system wont work. And I wont respect that, no way. Most people don't even know what they are voting about, they have no clue and they do not care. Its an illusion really, because the way our democracy works is that people THINK they are in control, but they really aren't. New parties can't enter the game becase the old, established ones have their "sheep" allready voting for them out of habit. Then people sit and whine when everything gets worse but still they vote for the same damn party. Such a system does not work.

"Just because elections didnt go your way isnt an excuse to destroy a democracy and impose your will on millions who dont agree with you."

Who talked about destroying democracy? I talked about changing it so it works more efficiently, and fairly.

"Good qoute in this matter: Dont like it? LEAVE! (cant remember who said it, IRCop related but cant remember who (must be getting old)"

No, that is not a good quote. Because I can't leave. Current democracy works the same way in all nations at the moment, so I can't really go anywhere. Besides, I don't have to, since I have freedom of expression and freedom of thought.

Owww is that how you meant: "I say we go the Heinlein way and let the military take control. Discipline and order is preferable to anarchy and hipocracy". confused.gif

Agreed partly, I however also vote for the same party as my parents do, not because they do but because its the pary who's value's are closest to my own. Mb its down to how i was raised ...... dunno. Sure blindly voting for the same party as your parents is wrong but thats not howevery one votes.

"No, that is not a good quote. Because I can't leave. Current democracy works the same way in all nations at the moment, so I can't really go anywhere. Iraq and Iran do have the ballot but there is just one party to vote for. I'd go for cuba ..... better wetter mostly. So there are options. Dont whine about it, do something about it. Go into politics yourself! Or just vote for someone (party/person) who says the samething as you ...... I suppose you vote because why on earth would you whine about it otherwise, I wouldnt really see how you'd have the right to complain if you didnt even bother to vote.

Ever read any of Heinleins books, specifically "Starship Troopers"? If not, you probably don't even have a clue what I am talking about and in that case I'd be happy to enlighten you.

No one here needs to hear what I would have in mind if I ran a G8 country.

So let's be fictional:

If I became Prime Minister of Canada, I'd tell Britain and the Gov General of Canada to both stuff themselves. Then I'd fire the entire parliament staff and re-hire all teenage girls to run the country.

That'd be so awesome.

In the book, the veterans (military) have rebelled and taken control. They impose a democractic system based on service and responsibility. Society is still run by politicians, but in a different way. Basically, everyone in society is born as a civilian and as such have some basic rights. In order to get the right to vote, the right to become a politician, the right to have multiple children (overpopulated world) and so on you have to enlist in federal service for a period of atleast 2 years or aslong as the federation needs you. Anyone has the right to enlist no matter your physical condition (if you are handicapped they will find a task for you to do non the less, if you truly want to serve) and only mental illness can prevent you from serve. After you have served, you become a citizen with the right to vote.

There is of course more to the system than what I explained above, but that is the gist of it.

Why such a system? Because it makes sure that those that do vote have worked for their right to do so. They wont vote out of habit, because they have paid a price for the right to vote. Those that do not vote are not worse off, because they do not really care enough anyway (the classic sheep). I would prefer a democracy that worked along these lines, where you had to earn your right to vote and lead others. Because like he says in the book, "Something given has no value".

A change like this can not be brought about in a regular fashion, politicians wouldnt go for it since it would mean they risked losing power. That is why I doubt our current democratic system will ever change without some kind of revolution or uprising.

Well its a system  .... but if its a good one? What is meant with federal service? Also not having certain rights because you chose not to serve the government . .... bit iffy. So if you have moral objections to serving the government (for what ever reason) you wouldnt get to vote and you would be, for all intents and porpuses, voiceless. This way the system in effect stifels all negative sounds and you are left with, what boils down to, a totalitarian system. Sorry if im not all that enthousiastic about it. The beauty of democracy is that everyone can vote and influence the system wether you supported the last government or not. Heinlich's way only allows people who are for the current government get to vote. Not my kind of system.
