Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead multiplayer error: Connecting Failed

Recommended Posts

Hello guys.

For quite a while, I've been trying to play with my friends on their server, but this is an unofficial one and I also think my problem is coming from this.

Everytime I try to connect to my friend his server, it says Connecting Failed, but when I try to join a official server, it just connects without any problems, and I've been looking around Google for problem fixes already such as opening your ports, which I did, but not sure if I did it right.

2302, UDP, 2302.

2303, UDP, 2303.

2305, UDP, 2305.

I have a Belkin router, and I've also seen that I need to disable my SPI somewhere in my WAN setup, which I cannot find ( Perhaps this will solve problem, if anyone can describe me how I can disable my SPI with a Belkin, please say it. )

If there is any ports which need to be opened more, then you can say it, in my Firewall, I allowed every single ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead and ArmA 2 on public and home/work, can someone please help me? I'd be thankfull forever :).

Sincerely, Derunzz.

If you can connect to every server but one, it is common sense that with this server something is wrong. Loaded Mods, BE enabled/disabled...there are hundreds of possible problems, different patch state not to forget. So a little more info would be nice.

...it just connects without any problems...

indicates that there is no problem at your side.

Were others able to joint the servers? I'd say there is an error at the host side.

Did the host only "Allow network traffic"? Or did he set Port forward to his computer? And did he allow the incoming traffic on his computers Firewall (if activated)?

You obviously have no idea what you're talking about and are just trying to come off as knowledgeable. Instead of trying to actually help the guy, you just jump to being a dick. Check your attitude at the door, bitch-tits, and stop being such a royal pisser.

Today me and my mate, had the same problem, none of us could join the others private server. But no problems when we connect to our Clan dedicated server.

This has never been a problem before.

Same glitch, but only for self hosted servers (Non-dedicated) but dedicated most the time are fine :/

Having the same problem with a few servers me and my mates also host from home. This does not seem to be a server side issue as all of these servers were working just fine yesterday; however all of a sudden no one can join in today. If anyone has an idea on what could be causing this problem pleas feel free to share with the community.

Jep same problem here: private hosting not working, tested on two different PCs

used beta and ace/acre, will test it now with vanilla

Edit: ok, vanilla isn't working either...

Edit2: Using Teamviewer VPN now as a work-around

Good thing abou this issue is that I found out about Tophes ArmA 2 Dedicated Server Tool which works great

Gamespy is no longer in Business. That would explain why connection failed. Well shit what now?

So I see a work around for dedicated servers which allows you to turn off the server option of using Gamespy. What about non dedicated servers? Is there a work around? I do not know how to edit things with Arma so if anyone does know could you give me a detailed description of what I need to do?

IF there isn't a work around I hope BI moves quickly to patch Gamespy out of the game for non dedicated servers.

Seriously! That's it. How does this just pop up with no warning. Me and a couple of friends couldn't play on hosted server tonight. Hope this is fixed soon.

I can't play with battleeye (and getting support with no luck), so i guess i'll get more done in the editor atleast.

Put this in your target line -connect=<i.p.address> -port=2302 leave out the brackets. You will connect directly to the server\host I.P.

Hope that helps for those that want a workaround.

We have the same issue. I host 3 ARMA2 servers, NAT'd behind a firewall on a robust business connection.

Yesterday at approximately 01:07 GMT the servers became inaccessible from the outside world. The servers list in the browser but are unreachable "Connection Failed" being the error.

If you look in the list of servers in ARMA2 there are HEAPS that have 0/30 or whatever, servers running DAYZ and Wasteland that are usually full.

Given that the majority of people connect via the browser in game this is a disaster.

Can anyone shed any light on this or offer a way around it?

Cheers

Well this will kill off the remaining ARMA community if that's the case.

I have asked for an official response from Bohemia, perhaps someone can comment on here??
