Resistance and patches

Recommended Posts

This may have been asked before, so please bear with me.

I have so many addons and modifications to OFP right now, that when OFPR comes out I plan to do a clean re-install of everything.  What version of OFP will OFPR require?  Will it update everything on a nice big master patch or do I have to install all the old patches one-by-one again before installing OFPR?

I imagine Resistance will upgrade from v1.46 to whatever it becomes (maybe around 1.70). Red Hammer updated from the most recent patch at the time, so Resistance probably will too.

I'm going to do a fresh install as well, just to be sure. Loading up Resistance for the first time only for it to crash due to some ancient addon that hadn't been removed properly would NOT be funny. smile.gif

To install Resistance you need any version of OFP, including 1.00, 1.20, 1.30 or 1.4x. Installation should be easy and painless - and I think that unless you will encounter some serious problems during installation, there is no need to reinstall OFP before installing Resistance.

Yep. Suma said on this thread that OFPR will install without doing and CRC checks and without or practically without replacing any existing files.

I hope this turns out to be a good hairday for me. tounge.gif

If it doesn't then you might want to try this. tounge.gif

Good thing Resistance can be installed without a hassle. smile.gif

I would go for it but then I'd have to get one for each of my daughters - unless I can hide it. Thanks for the link. smile.gif

It will be performing CRC checks on files it will install, but not on the files that are already there.

Let me add one word to rephrase that:

"OFPR will install without doing any CRC checks on and without or practically without replacing any existing files."

Yep, Kip is right. Also, OFP is a lot more complex than a lot of games simply because of the size and scope of what it sets out to achieve.
