Fireworks!

With the 4th of July closing. I was wondering, what wil lyou be doing. (If you celebrate it of course) Also, what kinds of fireworks are your favorites? And most of all, does ANYONE have any home made concocktions for fireworks? I had a good rigged firework that was pretty cool. Anyone got some recipies?

Where i live sucks for this kind of thing, cause you cant light anything off without hundreds of people hearing it, including the police if they're close by. Normally, i'd bust out the pipebombs and m-80s, but it looks like i'll be sticking with black cats and other firecrackers again

fireworks are awesome. me and my friends used to get bottle rockets and put them in mettal tubes and shoot them at each other.

theres tons of firework trailors near my house, and me and my friends always go all out and spend ass loads and get everything possible.

Ha, where I live (Chicago) we have to go to Indiana to buy fireworks. But there are a few tents set up around my house where illegal fireworks are sold. And Cops here are cool. They buy fireworks from there and no problems. They never come down my block where a lot of fireworks are set off. Cuase every time in the past, if they told us to stop, someone set bottlerockets in their tail pipes. Or salt in the gas tank etc. Timmy, why the hell would you shoot them at eachother. I know bottle rockets aren't exalty the most dangerous (Yes they are but compared to some stuff I have they are Snaps.) but why would you still shoot em at eachother?

Hehe I'm still chewing on fireworks that I bought 3 years ago I always buy from the big shops that have competition right next door, or down the street. More bang for the buck that way. If you buy from a tent that doesn't have competition near ,you'll get screwed.

As a kid I made my own boomers out of empty 30-06 shells and 12ga shells. But you couldn't be anywhere near them when they went off......duh

Never ever use firework fuse to make your own boomers as it burns wayyyy to fast!!! Canon fuse will slow burn ,so it can be timed.

Hmmmm, kinda like the movie Tremors......Whats that? Canon fuse. Why do you need that? For my canon

lol termors great movie. except for the 3rd one. But every year and my grandparents house, their neighbors have 3 rolls of fireworks. Each have a diamater of atleast 3 feet. Its funy to watch and there is a LOT of smoke from those puppies.

I make my own cherry bombs, rockets and smoke bombs, I am afraid that if I tell anyone here how to do that stuff, I may get banned.

I know how to mix my own explosives too, i have lot's of fun with my friends. I've never tried to mix nitroglicerine because it's dificult and dangerous, but most other explosives are safe as long as you don't do anything stupid.

Hey mods, can i post the recipe of a smoke bomb so the guys can have some fun with it? it's not an explosive and it's not dangerous.

I just go to my nearby Indian resveration and buy boxes of fireworks for dirt cheap. I'd go with like $50 and walk out with 2 big boxes of fireworks, big ones, small ones, smoke bombs, firecrackers, etc... Then I usually blow them all in one night, sometimes nearly starting a forest fire along the way or attracting the curosity of nosiey law enforcement.

Oh yeah, speaking of cops and firework/homemade fireworks: back in the days of highschooling, one night, a bunch of my friends got together to make one of these "bombs" that we found in an Anarchy cookbook. Well, it was late at night and we couldn't find all the needed chemicals for any of the bombs except this one involving a tennis ball and matches.  It was pretty basic, and we had lots of matches lying around, so we started working on it.  

After constructing the "bomb", we wanted to go out to our school and test it.  It was around 3AM in the morning, and there were like 6 of us walking the streets.  So we get stopped by a police car for questionning.  One of the cops, a lady cop, picks up the tennis ball from me, and asks where did I get it.  Im like, "uh, I founded it on the street back there" and then she squeezes it and says it's full of something.  She then shakes hit next to her head to hear what might be inside of it.  At this point, i'm getting really, really nervous.  I was worried that she'd bounce the ball at her feet and it go off.  So at this point, I'm looking around, plotting my escape route, when she tosses the ball back to me and we're on our way.  So we went home that night and the next night we tossed this sucker at the school and wasn't dissapointed one bit.
