Buzzcut13 1 Posted July 11, 2012 So I just downloaded the CO yesterday. Got the patch 1.60 installed and everything all good. When ever I try to join anything, whether it be scenario, boot camp, or campaign, it loads, but then I just get an overlook of the map. As if I'm floating there. I here beeps as if it's suppose to be telling me the objectives, but nothing happens. I've waited for over 10 minutes sometimes, and it just never works. No matter what I press or do. Not even the hud shows up. If this is some part of the game I don't know about yet, please tell me and don't try to make me look like an idiot for not knowing this. But if this happens to some players and others not, but there's a fix, please tell me. Thanks
EDcase 87 Posted July 11, 2012 I've never heard of that before. Machine specs? Not sure how CO works... did you install ARMA2 first and then ARMA2:Operation Arrowhead?
Thegazman 1 Posted July 12, 2012 (edited) I am having the same issue as Buzzcut13. When i load up anything to do single player i have no control over any units the only thing that happens is a still camera view of scenery that i cant control. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with these issue still persisting. I have played over 70 hours of Arma2 OA and only now has it decided to do this. SlinkyLegend 1 Posted July 12, 2012 Yea i get the same problem as well. It was working fine earlier yesterday then poof, I would start a mission and I would just a have a camera angle of the map (a preset one by the way, don't know if that helps) and couldn't do anything. The mission plays (I know this because when trying to play EagleWing, the "Bohemia Interactive Presents... A bonus Mission" text comes up, but nothing else), but I'm viewing something completely different. I'm at a loss as to what could be causing this or how to fix it. I haven't re-installed either Arma2 or OA yet because of what Thegazman said. I'd rather not have to take the time to do a clean wipe and re-install. W0lle 182 Posted July 12, 2012 I haven't heard of that before either nor experienced that myself. Not in SP and not in MP mode, and just today I started 4 or 5 Missions. What mission(s) you guys are playing? Using 1.60 only or a beta patch?

Not sure what the actual version is, but its the latest. The missions I have tried where EW and several of the scenarios (sorry can't really remember what they all where). This also occurred when trying to play a custom mission in the editor. As far as I can tell it happens on all the different maps.
5133p39 0 Posted July 12, 2012 Are you sure both your A2 and OA are legit and not some warez copies? Because this sounds strangely similar to how something (we are not allowed to talk about on these forums) could behave :)
SlinkyLegend 1 Posted July 16, 2012 Yes I'm sure I'm using completely legit versions of A2 and OA. They're through Steam so yeah...

Gunter Severloh 2546 Posted July 16, 2012 (edited) Run the game without the beta and see if you get the same result with just Arma2CO with patch 1.60 put -nosplash in your target line before -mod= to disable the loading screens, this will get you to the main menu of the game faster. SlinkyLegend 1 Posted July 16, 2012 Upload your rpt:http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/arma.RPT Hmm, i found the rpt however it seems to be outrageously long, and I'm not too sure what I should do with it. I've never really handled this stuff before.
katipo66 93 Posted July 16, 2012 I've had that, no betas game patched to 1.6 I get it sometimes from when ever I've done anything in the 3D editor and ported it into the 2D editor, create the mission and pbo it and place into Arma/missions to be selectable as a scenario, when previewing from the 2D editor it works fine but as soon as I PBO it and use as a scenario I get frozen camera? When I'm just placing objects and no units (no centers) then there is no problem, but sometimes when using units and therefore placing centers it sometimes freezes. Probably completely unrelated but who knows?

Gunter Severloh 2546 Posted July 16, 2012 Have you tried to join servers without running Dayz, and do you get the same issue?
SlinkyLegend 1 Posted July 16, 2012 Joining servers is fine, no problem with that. This issue only occurs when playing singleplayer.
ceeeb 139 Posted July 16, 2012 (edited) Assuming you are using it - DayZ breaks single player mode. If you want to play single player, don't load DayZ. Edited July 16, 2012 by ceeeb
Soviet_Agent 1 Posted July 18, 2012 From the link provided above, it was not clear to me what exactly "disable DayZ" meant. In case others are unsure here is what I had to do to regain the ability to play single player. First Launch arma2oa.exe from the install directory. (Not sure if this is absolutely necessary but the point is to remove any special run parameters or command line script launchers for troubleshooting purposes) Second At the initial menu, select "Expansions" Uncheck the box next to @dayz Ok You will be prompted to restart the program You should now be able to load your single player saved campaign and/or play single player missions.
