USSoldier11B 0 Posted June 22, 2002 Hey everybody, I'm back from JRTC. Yup, Fort Polk is definitely the shittiest Army post in the U.S. None the less JSOTF was able to effectively aid the 45th SIB in ridding Cortina (notional country) of CLF and PRA forces. Besides being stuck on SF FOB 195 the entire time analyzing enemy movements and not being able to leave the compound I still saw a little action. Seemed like every time I had a shift in the guard tower we would have a drive by shooting, plus we were overun by a platoon of CLF soldiers. 5 of which fell to my rifle. I just happened to be right in front of them when the crashed through the fence in a HMMWV. Glad to be eating real food again and not drenched in sweat all the time. I will answer a question that someone asked a whie ago. Yes, the U.S. does have Russian helos. They use them at JRTC. One of our ODA's did a HALO insertion out of an Mi-17.
