Arenis 1 Posted June 29, 2012 Hey all, I bought this game yesterday, after seeing all the sniper gameplays on youtube(huge fan of sniping). I see people doing the missions that I do with a sniper rifle. But I only can choose the standard assault rifle(really does not interest me...). So, how/where do I get to snipe? Thanks! Gunter Severloh 4071 Posted June 29, 2012 Hi Arenis Welcome to BIS forums. Theres a few things you can do its up to you: -you can try the armory and choose a sniper rifle, but thats just weapon testing. -you could go to Armaholic.com and find a mission for sp that is setup like a sniper mission (maybe someone can recommend some good ones for you). -You could get into the sp editor and create your own sniper scenarios heres a starting tutorial for the editor: Mission Editor http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Mission_Editor What would you like to do? But I only can choose the standard assault rifle(really does not interest me...). Where did you choose in the game, like did you get into a scenarios, or tutorial mission,or did you go into the editor? What game do you have exactly, and what version is it? Arenis 1 Posted June 29, 2012 Thanks for your reply. I've tryed campaign(first 4 missions or so), scenario's(only one where I saw I could be a sniper was the guerilla civil war, had a dragunov there) and armory(no snipers there :<) But I will give those options a try. Thanks!

Beagle 684 Posted June 29, 2012 Look in the editor. It should take you five minutes to learn the basics. In fact no, the basics is to leanr to resist tzhe urgge to move around for at least 45minutes and to scan the area with binos in a pattern to not miss that moving one target that might appear somewhere 400m away for 30 seconds. In MP the opposing Players will call you a camper and you might get kicked because you're not moving and supposed to be AFK
maturin 12 Posted June 29, 2012 Wh-what? It should take you five minutes to learn how to place friendly and enemy units in the editor, slap down a waypoint, and press Preview.

I reckon actually playing it like a sniper not a bunny hopping sniper ninja with a scoped machine gun.
Baraka 10 Posted June 29, 2012 Hi Arenis. Try this one if you own OA or A2 CO. It needs no Addons, so it´s a perfekt quick-starter. With Addon´s like ACE² and some custom Rifles like the Cheytac can it make nicer and more realistic. Try the Game for a while to get the very different Feeling to other games, then it will be easy for you to make your own Missions.

Varanon 892 Posted June 30, 2012 Try the single player mission "One Shot, One Kill"... (Assuming you have combined operations ?)... but be aware of the fact that you are shooting from a hill over a distance of roughly a kilometer and you need to compensate for bullet drop. By the way, you might mix up sniper with marksman
Joe98 92 Posted June 30, 2012 Selct single player Go into the Armoury. Play a few missions. As you play you unlock weapons, vehicles and aircraft. After a while you will unlock the various sniper rifles. If you then select a sniper rifle you are given sniping missions. If you select AT weapons you are given AT missions. etc etc .
