    TGW Vehicle Fixes

Is it possible to change this? I don't like balance because it means we don't see interesting compensating tactics from the other side.
  2. quote from pcgamer: How do the new animations affect close quarters combat? (@craig_vg) You heard it here: Arma 3 is balanced for double lean. The new stance animations operate as modifiers. Like Arma 2, you still hit Q or E to lean, X to crouch, and Z to go prone. But you can take an additional step left or right by hold Ctrl and hitting Q or E again. These adjustments are specific to each stance, so if you’re crouched and hit Ctrl + W, you’ll poke your head and upper body up a bit. If you’re prone, you can twist to the right by hitting Ctrl + E. There’s at least one ridiculous animation, too: when you’re prone, if you tap Ctrl + W, you go into this “last stand†kind of pose, you lie almost flat on your back, cradling the gun on your left forearm with the barrel pointed forward. And you can fire while doing this. It looks lazy and heroic and hilarious. I didn’t experience too much CQC in the demo, but mostly I’d expect these commands to increase the viability of fighting from windows/openings. They definitely let me peek around corners without taking awkward, stuttering steps, as is often the case in A2. We’ll finally have the movement flexibility to pop in and out of cover without being at a disadvantage.
  3. These are some of the client side mods I have (I have almost 5 zillion other mods including ACE/ACRE) In addition to JSRS and warfx and JTD fire/smoke Also bd tracers http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=12427 partial nv clear (night vision) http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=6355 jtd clear horizons http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=9202 oktnoblur http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=10222
  4. Guides are good for reference but a good way to get to speed is watch the youtube tutorial videos (such as mulledk13'a ) that work on implementing a mission, pause the video, alt tab to editor to replicate a step, alt tab back to play or go back, etc. Sometimes the narrator will make a mistake in his assumptions and you'll make the same mistake but you will learn what works and what doesn't.Also, you have to know how to load an existing mission so you can learn by fiddling around with completed missions. Editor won't load missions in your missions folder. You'll need something like pboview (an app you need to get) to extract the pbo file and then put it in the missions folder in your Documents (and not the missions folder under the game) .
  5. I would like this too. I have the mission "autocross" but it only gives a time and doesn't tell me how many cones were knocked down.
  6. Try this mission set I just found. The rifle qual works very well! http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=17094
  7. Remember that the sniper's deadliest weapon is his radio.
  8. There's a big difference between not having tunnel vision and being able to clearly see everything that's above and behind you (the ability to clearly see what should be fuzzy peripheral vision is also a big advantage). I'd say the unrealistic advantage of 3rd person is much greater than the unrealistic disadvantage of 1st person. Especially if you are wearing helmet or NVG. Shacktac hud gives a much better sense of giving back some of that awareness without making it so ridiculously clear and detailed.
  9. If you want balance, you could have 2 sides with different uniforms but with the same Russian weapons. No need to mess around with the weapon models.
  10. That's why Dayz is great. It will push Bohemia to fix the engine so it is more pvp/cqb friendly

Why is this game not more popular?

Why is this game not more popular? I guess being #1 isn't enough? :)

    User mission requests!

If there is one thing missing from ArmA2, it's a good self scoreable training regime that works with ACE. America's Army had these great CQB courses where you could practice as much as you'd like and the score would be based on speed, accuracy and other factors (for example, you'd lose points if you hit a civilian)
  13. Yeah I would really like a human target but I think a simple scoring system like this would work better. For example http://www.caelyntek.com/airsoft/articles/TAPSS/TAPSStarget.jpg
  14. Please change it. If I'm in the field and use an rco scope, I need to change the scope to a cco once I enter a village.
