Shoot (0€): http://clans.gameclubcentral.com/shoot/ It even has a profile for OFP setup, you just need to edit it abit to work in ArmA2: http://clans.gameclubcentral.com/shoot/profiles/flashpoint.xml I tested it with adjustments in ArmA2 and it worked great back then. It uses the microsoft speech api so when you train your voice using the example texts it'll understand you better. Remember also to fine tune the speed and accuracy sliders in the speech API. ratszo 17 Posted April 25, 2013 GlovePie Yeah, using Push-to-Talk it's near flawless. Look here for a player made template: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?126806-GlovePIE-speech-recognition-script-for-Arma2&highlight=GlovePie For PTT paste in: Microphone.Enabled = Mouse.Button4 --or any key you wish. Shoot! doesn't work on win7 for me.
KlassenT 10 Posted May 22, 2014 First of all, I realize this is a pretty severe necropost, but board restrictions on new members prevent me from (appropriately) creating a new thread. I had this idea myself the other night, and I started poking around for some applications that might fit the bill to bring the immersion and automation into ArmA 3 that I've been looking for. I love the depth of the radio commands, and the interface gets the job done, but I think even Bohemia would admit it's not the greatest UI for rapid response and managing a fireteam during combat... Hopefully that's not too presumptuous! ;) I tried looking into several of the programs listed earlier in the thread, but so many seemed to have become abandonware or vaporware that I just thought after a year's passing, perhaps someone can share a success story of getting a third-party voice recognition software to work either between or behind ArmA 3's radio architecture. Direct plugins aren't necessary in my eyes, just something that can translate moderate voice commands into mouse and keyboard shortcuts would do the job quite nicely. Thoughts? StrongHarm 13 Posted May 22, 2014 VAC is really a great app. The builder is intuitive for creating profiles for games, the overhead on your system is almost nothing, and I've never had a crash. You can activate or deactivate voice command mode with a voice command... you can even switch game profiles with a voice command. The very best thing about it is that you don't have to train it. Simply type in what you want to say, and what key you want that to activate, and you're good. I even use it with my pipe in my teeth and it still understands me and never requires me to give a command more than once. Operationally in Arma3, it makes so much more sense to use the voice commands. I can lead my team so much faster and efficiently with VAC that I'm not sure I'd want to play without it. I agree that adding this capability to the core game would be a huge value added feature.
KlassenT 10 Posted May 23, 2014 Looks like a cool little program, currently working on getting a profile built so I can test it before dropping money on the license. How did you configure your command list, out of curiosity? In the Help files provided with VAC Builder, their example looks like it's addressed virtually every possible combination of selection-action groups (Meaning they have provided a separate entry for "One, scout ahead"; "Two, scout ahead"; "Three, scout ahead" and so forth) Seems like there could be a *lot* of potential entries just for infantry radio commands in ArmA 3, is there any merit to breaking out identifiers and actions, i.e. trying to resolve your subordinate (be it "All," "Two," Three") as its own "command" within VAC, then following it with the desired action? I could see it cleaning up the list of possible action phrases, but I don't know if recognition would suffer as a result.
Harzach 2517 Posted May 23, 2014 Articulate is free and requires no profile-building. An excellent piece of work. No matter the program you use, the most important thing is to make several passes through Windows Speech recognition training (Control Panel > Speech Recognition > Train your computer to better understand you). The more times you complete it, the better it works.
asuseroako 17 Posted May 23, 2014 I haven't tried Articulate yet but I was once a VAC user (Arma 2 days, COH) and I have to concur that still needs some training as what @Harzach mentioned especially in my case that although my machine is using US English locale/language, most of my spoken commands have not been recognized right away considering my Filipino accent. Thus, as with all other programs which use Windows speech files, to achieve more accurate speech recognition, you have to train your machine to better understand you. What I love using right now is GlovePIE. It can do a lot of cool things for your character/avatar, your squad members, the game as a whole. Different strokes for different folks. :)
