kremator 1065 Posted January 18, 2012 Running latest beta on client and on MP dedi (using hotfix method - thanks Sickboy!) and it all seems VERY good. I have noticed a little more rubber banding - but then again I AM using a huge number of AI. I have to play around with server settings to optimise for these high numbers. Does anyone know if using -exThreads=7 on a dedi server have any effect?
=wfl= sgt bilko 10 Posted January 19, 2012 Re-posting! There are no addons folders installed with the betas from 88044 and onwards. Is this correct or maybe that's part of the problem?
SD_BOB 10 Posted January 19, 2012 Is this new -beta perameter something we will HAVE to start using if we wish to run the beta? Or will it be ok run as normal once the new beta update comes out?
maddogx 13 Posted January 19, 2012 Is this new -beta perameter something we will HAVE to start using if we wish to run the beta?Or will it be ok run as normal once the new beta update comes out? You should be able to run the game as normal using the -mod parameter. -beta was introduced as an alternative so that people could using a beta doesn't break the in-game mod management system. If you don't use that anyway, you'll be fine.
suma 8 Posted January 19, 2012 This particular beta has -mod broken. Will be fixed in the upcoming beta.
twirly 11 Posted January 19, 2012 (edited) Tried a few more things and this works for me....with mods run from a parameter file. desktop shortcut:- "J:\ArmA 2\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -malloc=tbb4malloc_bi -par=startup.txt startup.txt -skipintro -nosplash -nopause -world=empty -showScriptErrors -maxmem=2047 _window -mod=@Islands;@Twirl;@Test...and so on. EIDT: Getting seemingly random CTD's... but wicked graphics now! Well done. Edited January 19, 2012 by twirly Added stuff
