ArmA 3 System Requirements

The best for you is to wait for the community alpha, then it will be better to know what kind of config is needed.

Gamescom PCs were high end machines : i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz, Nvidia GeForce GTX 680 (4 GB VRAM), 8 GB RAM

Damn... I have pretty much the same system and the performance of the Gamescom preview was...hmm... not so good...

Hopefully they gonna improve the performance. :pray:

What do you think about 3D vision with high settings in HD in A3? Will it need NASA computer to run with decent FPS?

I had not enough time to do everything. (Only Vehicle and Infantry Showcase.)

The infantry showcase was stuttering, nothing really bad, but i expected a better performance.

It looked so nice and fluent on youtube, so im a bit disappointed.

And it looked like they had no AA activated, but im not sure, couldnt take a look at the graphic settings.

For me, ArmA 2 vanilla runs fine on my system with everything on high and 5k viewdistance. (tested in benchmark and some warfare missions)

Will A3 benefit better of 6-cores as A2 or should we expect the same kind of performance? I´d assume 4-cores would do the trick if the AI is singled threaded but I could be wrong. Saving for a new pc codename "A3 MkI" ( :pc: ) and already gathering some intel. Thanks in advance

No need for 6 cores, a nice i5 with 4 cores will do the thing. No need for an Xtrem version, a plain 2500k can do quite well.

If you have too much money go to a GTX 670, if not, an AMD 7850 will do fine. In fact the most important thing is to get a decent DX11 compatible GPU.

Don't forget the minimum 4 Go Ram, and a SSD to ensure quick access disk. Remember to bring in Seven.

Hope I can run it with Phenom X4 955BE 3.2Ghz and single GTX560 (non Ti) i have small monitor so 1280x720 or 1366x768 ? :)

I heard that trailers were recorded with GTX560

Yes you can run, you meet the system requirements. How fast... nobody knows.

I will say ... probably, there is nevertheless a flaw in this config.. the HD ! BIS games are having the bad habit of needing frequent and numerous HD access, so a SSD will be better than a Hard Drive.

I wish I had an SSD, but my budget for this laptop was $900 so that was the best I could do

as far as what you can get now yes, that card should do fine! i have a 670 and have no doubt it will handle arma3... just don't go in expecting to throw "ultra" settings at it, no computer for the next few years will be able to handle that if its anything like arma2. you have a great card there lol not sure why your even asking

It most likely will, but Nvidia may give some bells and whistles in the form of additional particles on Nvidia GPUs.

for now what has been confirmed is that all physix computation will be on the cpu. there has been no information regarding vfx enhancements like particles etc.

Knowing Nvidia, there's going to be volumetric interactive smoke particles from frag grenades, bullet hits, explosions, smoke grenades and helo rotor blades. There's already some nice footage of Comanche displacing its missile smoke trails downwards. (J*0*)J

There's precedent in the form of other games and there's evidence for the case in the current one.

Yeah but, since when is nVidia developing parts of other peoples games? Allowing more particles with HW accelerated PhysX would be up to BI, nVidia arent going to magic up some particles in random games.
