CONSPIRACIES: Apocalypse

Hello,

this time is want to tell you some infos about my upcoming project called CONSPIRACIES: Apocalypse. With the release of Operation Evac and Substance I used the feedback to rework my scripts and update the modules. This time we have a huge amount of possibilities, new weapons ect... Before I start to introduce the features, I want to say something to the story, where I took more time to create. :)

Storyline: In 1973 the cold war reached its heatest phase. The USA launched a nuclear missle to russia. The nuclear fallout of the world is now unstopable. Some people in the whole world searched some cover in so called "Vault's". These bunkers were closed with its people during the nuclear winter. One year later in 1974 the vault's opened their gates again. People can be free again... The world has changed and only some few villages and towns survived the nuclear horror. Peoples begin to move back to their homes. Any kind of government was defeated. Some vault's created groups and declaired some pieces of earth to its own. You will be a man called Sergej Vintrov. A man who can call himself a survivor of the nuclear winter. You belongs to a group of vault-people who declaired a terrain for its own. But now the food-reserve it nearly zero. You have to search for some new food. But also some groups who survived without the vaults were moving through the terrains. They were called "Raiders". The war changed that people... They only know evil anymore. A new war has been started against the "vault survivors" and the "outer survivors"... Now it is 2019 and you start in the middle of the new war between these 2 fractions on the old country russia.

Will the Stalker units finally get the arms fixed? Biggest amosphere breaker for me so far... well that and some crazy script errors that keept me from playing part 2 very long.

There wont be any stalkers this time... I am not sure if even monster were included because this makes it very unreal again... i want a story that everyone can understand easly... btw: i just noticed you come from Sachsen-Anhalt also^^

I stopped right there and thought to myself, "That sounds familiar". Then it hit me. You should rename this project "Fallout: ArmA 2".

Mmk I wasn't crazy when I read that XD Haha the story sounds fun to have in the ArmAverse though. See how it'll be done and such. Looking forward to this haha

Well, in Fallout 3 the "fallout" was in the 50's and it plays in the USA. "CON-A" plays in good old russia and the fallout here was in the 70's. A really cool thing I am working on is the "Sector"+"Base-building" module. While the Sector-module allows you to clear sectors (counts 21 sectors) from the raiders, the base-building module allows you to fortificate places in this sector with sandbags, mg's, rocket-launcher and infantry to prevent an attack of the raiders, when they try to recapiture the sector.

I dont like the direction you have choosen to go with CONSPIRACIES.

No Zombies ? :butbut:

Building a base and have firefights with lots of AI is something many missions offer. The niche of CONSPIRACIES was always the creepy stuff with not many enemys, a great atmosphere and Mutants.

Too much action (firefights) just destroys the creepy atmosphere for me.

The STALKER games (Clear Sky) had a similar issue, way too much action and i really hated this "sector control" stuff...

Well regarding to the story and settings it would be possible to include monsters or something like that but i think without that it would possibly aim on more players. OFP and ArmA is no FPS with horror stuff... :confused: Let your comments here its your choice!

Will you finally build the island in Visitor3 instead

placing objects in the editor on an existing island?

It would bring many advantages:

Better AI pathfinding if made correctly

AI recognizes cover

Performance would increase a lot (old Conspiracies

parts put the fps down, even on a good pc)

Loading times decrease

If you need help with building a costum island,

There is a great step to step guide available, even in German.

I will use an existing island with very small modifications via editor... speaking of camps ect... no fear about bad performance... ;)

I think that using bloodsuckers and zombies is good idea, that horror stuff its somthing new in arma 2 campaigns [most campaigns for arma 2 are "realistic" ;), no sf or horror stuff ], its only few campaigns with that, and people like shoot to zombies :)

And no Mutants? :o

Then the banner you use for your Project is a bit missleading.

Anyway, looking forward to try it out later.

Also, yes Sachsen-Anhalt, Bitterfeld/Dessau area to be precise, wanna come over for a Bratwurst and a beer this weekend when i celebrate my birthday? :D

Wow, the detector sound is just annoying...maybe you should ask the creater of the STALKER mod for his sound file... ;)

For me its good that detector sound is annoying, you now you should go back or smothing wrong will gona happend ;)

Thanks. we are using Vostok-Winter this time from Old Bear. In this case, thank you for that great island =)

little report what is done so far:

-6 additional missions

-1 quest

-13 main-missions

-5 working anomalies

-around 400 NPC's

-7 populated villages

-30 weapons

-working sector-system

-working IGP-system

-working weather-script

-few camps of raiders

to do:

- around 30-80 missions

- 10 populated villages

- some gameworld-stuff (environment)

- testing and bugfixing

- including bloodsuckers and zombies

- including infection-system

- including scientists and their stations

so maybe we are ready in september
