Will soldier with normal suit still lost his gears in water after a period of time?

In the past news pictures I know soldiers with diving suit and scuba can operate under water with his gears on back. But if you are only in normal suit, when you are under water will you still lose your gears after a period of time? Or will you can dive under water for a moment and can take something in your gear pack?

I think it'd be a good addition to ArmA 3 if you sank in the deep water, if you were overloaded. Obviously then you'd have to attempt to quickly ditch some things. Maybe even an animation for using your rucksack to keep afloat (action menu?). I think it should only happen in deep water (above head) though.

Rucksacks with the usual stuff in (sleeping bag, matress) can serve as flotation aid in almost all cases I have been in.

I remember that in Delta Force 3: Land Warrior, you can choose scuba diving suit to stay under water. And you also can dive for a moment with normal suit. In the game you can choose Russian APS or SPP-1 to fight under water.

I wish ARMA3 would do so.

Ivan mentioned in doupe.cz video that soldiers without diving apparatus can hold his breath for 1 minute, they even tested it in bathtub :D. So I suppose that you can stay under water with normal suit.

i like the idea cuz i know i can go under water w/ out scuba but not for ever like 1 min

Haha, awesome. Guess they don't smoke as much as I do, I think I have a limit of 15-20 seconds or something :D
